Problem Installing Microstation CONNECT Edtion

I tried to install Mircostation CONNECT Edition using the wizard but there is an error message saying "Check internet connection and restart the setup"

My internet is working fine and can connect to Bentley.com, etc. There is no proxy on my network. My colleague installed the software without problem even we are on the same network.

Any help is appreciated and I have attached the log file that was generated by the wizard.

By the way I do have Microstation Selectseries 3 on my machine and is working fine and is connected to Bentley.

Double-click in the "Cell Library" list of cell must be enhanced

Hi,

When you are using the "place cell" tool, you could use the button [...] to open the "Cell Library" dialog box. You can see all the cell in the list and if you double-click on one of them, the field "Active Cell" is filled whit the cell name in the tool settings dialog. That sounds ok.

Now, when you are using the tool "Pattern Area", "Replace Cell" or any other tool giving access to the "Cell Library" dialog through a [...] button, and you do the same thing (double-click on a cell name in the list), this is the "Active Cell" in the tool "Place Cell" which is filled (and this tool is started).

In my opinion, when the dialog "Cell Library" is opened by using a button [...], this dialog must received the information on which tool has started it to fill the right field accordingly.

See the video hereafter showing the use of "Replace Cell" than select [...] which open the dialog "Cell Library". After double-clicking a cell name in the list, the tool "Place Cell" has been started and the "Active Cell" is filled instead "Use Active Cell" in the "Replace Cell" tool.

Autocomplete in the "Active Cell" field

Hi,

All is said in the title. It would be useful to have an autocompletion when filling the field "Active Cell" in the "Place Active Cell" or any tools where a cell name is requested ("Pattern Area", "Place label",...)

Also, the behaviour is different in different tools. The filed "Active Cell" in "Place Cell" tool don't work in the same way than "Cell Name" in "Place Label". Disturbing...

MicroStation CONNECT Edition vs PowerDraft CONNECT Edition

Many folks have asked what is the difference between MicroStation CONNECT Edition and PowerDraft CONNECT Edition.

PowerDraft is basically a subset of MicroStation. PowerDraft does not include:

Advanced rendering (Luxology) - PowerDraft does have editable Display Styles
Animation
Batch Convert
Batch Processing
3D Solid Modeling Tools
3D Surface Modeling Tools
Mesh tools

You can edit 3D models in PowerDraft with the Detailing Callout tools, so you can use it to create and work with Dynamic Views, but you cannot edit the 3D graphics (except manipulation ... move, copy, delete).

You also get the following in PowerDraft:

Full configuration and access to variables
2D Constraints are also available in PowerDraft allowing you to create powerful 2D parametric cells.
Geographic Coordinate systems
Full Import and Export of standard formats including all DWG versions
Design History
Full Reference, Raster, Point Cloud and Reality Mesh functionality
