Windows10 and Iplot

Doing some Windows 10 and Microstation testing. I am unable to load the Iplot drivers for my plotters. The Plot server is Windows 2008 R2 and the client is Windows 10. Client was an upgrade from windows 7. Both x64 and x86 drivers are selected under additional drivers on the server properties. The driver install just spins and never completes. Devices and Printers lists the attempted install as an unspecified device with unknown and unspecified in the descriptions. Any ideas?

Question about endless issues with Bentley products

Hello,

I'm curious about the lack of decent updates with bentley products, since this is a CM forum, PW and Import/Export to Excel tool comes to mind. I'm always puzzled how a company with such a stale progress can survive. Sometimes issues with these products can put people in hospitals or even worst. Is the "i" in the V8i for inconsistency?

I'm not just rambling on, I want Bentley to listen and understand that you guys have cause too much grief and too much pain and something needs to be done about it. Endless issues:

1. Inconsistency with reference linking and working with references.

2. Inconsistency with security models.

3. Horrible searching performance

4. Property/attribute updating painfully slow

5. 1999 style synchronous & blocking UI.

6. Don't have enough words in my vocabulary to describe how terrible the import/export to excel tool is.

7. Copying a file in PW requires a download to your pc then upload? A simple server operation? Try doing that to 100 files over vpn.

8. Inconsistent UI causing heartaches and many hours lost.

The list could go on and on if only I had time. Are there no developers working for Bentley and are all of the updates outsourced to India? If it seems harsh, its not anywhere close to the harshness and disgust I felt when I wasted 6 hours of my life trying to figure out whey data would not import into PW only to realize that a horribly named checkbox was the issue.

What does "Only undo export" mean to you?

There is no excuse, absolutely no excuse for releasing a product like this.

Migrating from V8i to CONNECT products

I am developing a migration plan to move to CONNECT Edition products. My organization is currently running:

MicroStation V8i SS-3 08.11.09.459
ProjectWise Client V8i SS-4 08.11.11.123
PW Integration Server V8i SS-4 08.11.11.123
PW InterPlot Organizer V8i SS-4 08.11.11.56
Various V8i apps (InRoads,OpenPlant,AECOsim,ProStructures)

After doing my development and testing, I would anticipate starting the actual move in early 2017. Given that timeframe, are there any compatibility problems with migrating in the following order.:

Upgrade all users to Mstn CONNECT and PW Client CONNECT; do this user-by-user while production is in progress.
Upgrade PW Integration Server to CONNECT version.
Upgrade PW IPlot Organizer to ???
Upgrade apps to CONNECT versions as they become available.

Anything new on the Windows 10 front with a ProjectWise Client that will play nice with it?

ProjectWise v8i (SS4) ... Windows 10 ... Microsoft Office 2013 integration module

With the following combination, we are encountering errors with the PW Microsoft Office Integration.

Example error: try to open Word file from PW Explorer results in "cannot login to data-source".

Windows 10

PW Explorer: 08.11.11590

PW MS Office 2013 and 365 integration: 08.11.11855

I guess that we need to change to the "Connect Edition" of Project Wise if we want to work on Windows 10 - correct?
