Creating physical member

I am trying to create a physical beam from beam elements (beam between columns is divided into no. of small beam element) . Beam elements on either side of the columns are provided with member offsets along the axis of the beam for accounting column dimensions. STAAD is creating physical beam with beam element inside the columns excluding beam elements adjacent to the column ie it is not creating single continuous beam over the columns. How can I overcome this problem?
