I have the following question. I have an existing DGN file with 3 types of models in it, design models, drawing models and sheet models.

If I go to the model dialog and I do "copy model" from existing design model, then this model is copied and all the references are perfectly shown into the references dialog.

If I do the same with an existing sheetmodel, then also the references are present in the references dialog.

But if I do "copy model" from an existing drawing model, then the references dialog shows no references! After I close the DGN file and reopen it, then alle the references are shown again in the references dialog.

Is this a known issue? Is this a bug or does it work differently with drawing models?

Can somebody explain the differences to me? I would be very thankful.

Create KMZ without fill

Hi all,

Does anyone know how I can create a KMZ file in Microstation Connect without the "fill"?

In v8i it is possible to set the fill off before creating the KMZ, but in Microstation Connect this seems not working anymore.

I get always a KMZ file with the fill=on.

Microstation V8i vs Oracle 19c

Does anyone know if Microstation V8i can connect with Oracle 19c?

One of our clients works at this moment with a connection between Microstation V8i and Oracle 12c. And wants to upgrade the Oracle environment to Oracle 19c.

Looking forward to any reaction.

Maybe someone has this problem too and can explain why this happens and how to fix it?

Some colleagues of mine, when opening a dgn in Microstation CONNECT, suffer from spontaneous changes in the background color of dialogs. For example the dialog for switching levels on/off. I myself had this problem for a while, but not for quite some time now.

On the internet I could find that the background color of the dialogs has something to do with the settings of Windows (under Personalize), but why the background color suddenly changes when opening some dgn's I cannot find out. And so a solution to the problem is also unknown to me. Sometimes the dialog of the levels on/off suddenly has a blue background and sometimes pink letters, making it almost unreadable. We can't fix this! In this example below the levels on/off dialog has suddenly a blue background with black letters.

Is there a setting somewhere in Microstation that influences this?
Or does anyone know where Microstation might keep this info?

Can we fix this with some of the Windows settings maybe?
