Using Pen tables, looking for a logical name to plot when references are nested.

I have for years plotted by using a pen table that looks for references in a dgn file that are referenced by logical name. I set up a different pen table for each type of plot that I'm doing within a plan set so that elements are always drawn one time and placed by defined elements per layer definition. This way I can draw existing planimetrics in the survey file, and depending on what plan sheet this survey ends up on, I can plot it to have a different look by setting a different pen table up for the plot.

The issue I have is a user wants to use a nested reference file in the plan sheets so that he can more easily control layer on-off state in the plan sheets by turning them on or off in the nested file once, and they update in all the plan sheets. I actually kinda like this idea, since it does solve a problem with cad techs being inconsistent from sheet to sheet with certain layers being turned on in one sheet, and off in others. BUT, I can't seem to find a way to get the pen tables to recognize the logical name within the nested file now, so I can't control the way elements look on a plot. The pen table only recognizes the actual nested ref file, not the files that are referenced into that file.

Any Idea how I can get a pen table to recognize a logical name within a nested reference?

Microstation Connect - Renaming Text Favorite Issue

I'm able to successfully create and rename a text favorite with the text editor open. When I close and then reopen the text editor, the favorite reverts back to its original name. For example, I created a favorite for a station point label from the OpenRoads Plan Annotation field and by default it appears as "0+00.00" in the favorites list. I then renamed it to "Alignment Station Major" which appeared to work. However, after closing and reopening the text editor, I noticed the name changed back to "0+00.00". Not sure whether I'm missing something or if this is a software issue. Any help is much appreciated

AutoTurn Pro 10.1 Power Inroads and Geopak SS4 - Command Line Is Blank

When selecting any of the 3D AutoTurn tools in Power Inroads or Geopak SS4, the command line in the lower left corner of the window is blank which makes it impossible to know how to proceed through the various steps required to execute the tools. Any help is much appreciated

Power Geopak SS4 - Import Geometry Profile Selection Issue

When importing gpks into Power Geopak SS4, every single profile in the gpk is a child of each individual horizontal. Is there a way to only show profiles associated with a particular horizontal? The gpk i'm currently importing contains 40+ horizontals and about 150+ profiles, so essentially i'm forced to expand the list of 150+ profiles under each horizontal and then find and select the two or three that are actually applicable. This is a painstaking process and introduces room for error since in some cases it's not immediately clear which profiles are related to a given horizontal. Any help is much appreciated

OpenRoads (Power InRoads SS4) - Horizontal Alignment Auto Annotate Not Working

I have auto annotate enabled for various feature definitions that I assign to horizontal alignments and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I noticed this behavior is consistent among all these feature definitions during any given run of Power InRoads (they're either all problematic or all working as expected). I checked level display, my dgnlib references, and xin, and haven't been able to identify the issue. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

Drop a custom linestyle creates line strings instead of arcs

Hi Tamicca,

I created a custom line style that includes various lines offset from one another as shown in the screenshot below. When using the Drop Linestyle tool on an arc, it creates line strings instead of arcs. Is there any way to drop the line style and retain the arc geometry of the individual elements? Thank you

Resize InRoads and OpenRoads Dialog Boxes

Why isn't it possible to resize the InRoads and OpenRoads dialog boxes? Is this how the software is supposed to function or am I experiencing some sort of issue? Any help is much appreciated

InRoads SS4: PC and PT point symbols not displaying

I can't get the PC and PT point symbols (specified as circles) to display along my horizontal alignments unless I export the alignments to InRoads and annotate via the View Geometry>Stationing command. My preference name within View Geometry>Stationing matches the feature name of my horizontal alignment (in OpenRoads), and all other annotation settings seem to be working as expected (stationing text, tick marks, cardinal stations and leaders, etc.). Any help is much appreciated.
