If you change the zoom level, it will reappear, but you won't be able to select it or manipulate it until you exit the design file and get back into it. Any ideas?

They are straight forward utility line styles, so they have a line with a gap and then text that either says "SAN" "E" or "STM". I seem to have occasional issues using these line styles. For whatever reason, the text will come in extremely large on one line style, but the others will behave correctly. The line part of the style is good, the gap for the text is good, but the text itself is huge.

Not sure what needs to be adjusted to get this to work.

The attached picture shows the gas line on top and then the storm line on bottom. The gas is coming it perfectly, but not the storm.

I am running into issues when I try to control what displays on top of what, on an elemental level. I can't grab one file and push it to the back or bring it to the front since there are some items in each file that need to be controlled individually. What is the best and most consistent way to deal with this? Should I try to have all my reference files in 3D and control what goes where with elevations? I'm not sure what the best way forward would be.

I have a somewhat similar issue when printing linked Excel spreadsheets, but never this bad. I have an Excel spreadsheet linked in this file, and when I zoom in and out of the view, it will look strange for a second, and then update and will look correct. When I print the sheet however, it is unreadable (see attached). I am using a version of the Bentley PDF printer driver and trying to print a 11x17 sheet model to a 11 x 17 PDF (1:1 scale). Any idea why this is happening? I tried adjusting the raster quality, but it didn't do anything.communities.bentley.com/.../Print-to-PDF.pdf

Replace Text with Cell

I have a client that uses Tahoma as their standard font. When we need to use the centerline, flow line, or property line symbol, we have to use a couple of spaces within the text and then go back and add the appropriate cell for that symbol. This is not terribly efficient and causes issues when text has to be moved or otherwise modified (you have to remember to move all of the cells along with it). Is there a good way, either through text substitutions or any other means, to replace the text string "C/L", "P/L", or "F/L" with the appropriate cell? Ideally, I would like to have something that our users can just include the text C/L in the note itself as a placeholder for the cell. That way, if for some reason the substitution doesn't work, you can still tell what the note is trying to say.

I open for any suggestions.

I have a DGN with the GCS set to "EPSG:4326" which is the WGS 84 system. I have imported some data that has lat/long associated and it appears like it comes in correctly. (If I select one of the imported cells, it gives me the origin at 85.333,39.888 for example). Now if I want to take this layer and reproject it to a Projected system (northing easting), I go into the set GCS dialog box and select my new GCS, and then it asks me if I want to reproject or correct the GCS, I select reproject. After I do this, all the elements now have an origin of 0,0. Is there something I am doing wrong or something I am not understanding? Is the issue related to my imported data still being set to lat/long?

Help me understand (as much as possible).

I have a dataset in Geopak Map that looks good and I can analyze the properties and the associated values of each point. When I export to a shapefile and then reference that shapefile into a DGN, I will go to the same point, look at the element information and see that all the properties are there, but very few of them have values. Any idea why it wouldn't be showing all of the values that were stored in Map?

Import From Excel

Good afternoon all,

Since I am very new to Bentley Map, I am going to ask what may be a simple question. Can I take an Excel file (or Access file) that has structures and associated data (lat, long, size, condition, etc...) and import that into Bentley Map? Once I am able to do this, I would like to export this data to a shapefile as well. I have really just begun working with Map and this would be one of the nice tools to use if available.
