A number of users have saved their settings with the rotation tool set to 3pt. There is now a requirement to move and rotate the data, and i am proposing to do this through keyins and batch process.

When trying to set the active angle i only have 2pt or 3pt, but not the actual angle itself

if anybody can point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated

We have just recently upgraded our infrastructure at two sites within the organization. Both site have two servers replicating on a dfs solution and configured exactly the same at each site. At one site everything runs smoothly, at the other site users are continually receiving messages from microstation/ powerdraft when they open/ close files......'unable to save deign file. Most likely, network connection was lost. Do you want Retry....?' or runs painfully slow when trying to choose a command

We are not running dgn file indexer, as we have had previous problems on an older server, again receiving the same message.

our external IT guys have done some testing and we seem to find spikes in the network, when Microstation/ powerdraft produces the above. Their quick solution is to turn off the dfs, which resolves the problem, but defeats the object of us having a disaster recovery solution. Plus as mentioned we have the same configuration at another site with no problems

any advice/ help greatly be appreciated

I have a number of files which need to be moved and rotated a set angle from a set point.

I was kinda thinking of setting this up in a batch process. Moving all the elements is straight forward, but is it possible to rotate all elements from a set point and set angle via a simple keyin command.

Thanks in advance

pdf print/screen quality

Hi,

We predominantly issue many of our drawings in PDF format, and what I have noticed is issues with fonts (on screen) in adobe acrobat (pro & reader). I have attached two file formats PDF and JPEG. In both files formats we have attached text which has been created in Microstation (the bottom half of text) and the other half has been created in Adobe InDesign (the top half of the text) When viewing in adobe reader the top half is a lot clearer, which is probably expected due pen tables, etc...., but you do see issues with the fonts, especially i's, l's, etc.... as a tester we created the same piece of work in a jpeg format. The results are different in that the visual appearance with the fonts seems to have disappeared.

has anybody come across this before and possibly how to rectify the problem

thanks in advance

we seems to have adopted a workflow where we create individual files and then create a composition file of all the different references specific for the relevant floor plate, elevation/section etc....

users then reference in the composition file to a live nest of 1 into the model of the sheet file and maybe an individual file to make up the file output drawing. The user will then reference in the model file live nest of two, scale down the model and move, clip accordingly.

some the issues the users have been experiencing is levels are constantly switching themselves on in the model in the sheet, which then has a knock effect with the sheet output. this means the users are constantly checking, changing to get the drawing to its intended state and plotting individually rather using print organiser, which seriously counter productive!!.

One top of that, one or two switch levels on/off in the sheet instead of the model, meaning it will cause problems when converting, as the conversion seems to look at the model first, and uses the level state that is setup on

The other issue we seem to be experiencing is when levels are switched on/off in the model and the user then switches to the sheet, the sheet has not mimicked the level state, until the file is reopened...?

workflow attached

Would be eternally grateful if anybody could advise on a workflow that answers all the problem note above so the end users are pulling their hair out!

is it possible to set up a batch process enabling 'reference set display' of a particular reference that is live nested into a file? I have tested this manually, but to no avail, but if testing in manually with the file directly referenced in (rather than 'live nested) it seems to work.
