bing maps are not loading

I am trying to use the Background Maps (bing map) in ORD. It is not loading correctly. I have to zoom out extremely large. All I can see is the eastern half of the USA. When I zoom in to my site the aerial image disappears. I have set the correct coordinate zone and logged into Connection Client.

Version Checker not working

I am trying to use some of the DGNLIB files delivered with ORD Civil Default Standards - Imperial Workspace. When I try to open the file, I get a message "The data in this file belongs to [OpenRail Designer Update 3]." I have tried using the Version Checker to align the products but it fails every time. I get an error "VersionChecker.exe has detected a problem and logged it to ..."

Is there any other method to convert an OpenRail file to an OpenRoads file?

I just want to use the sample files as a starting point to configure OpenRoads Designer profile and cross sections labels.

IR SS2 drainage - No Flow found upstream

I am new to the drainage tools in SS2. I have created a small drainage network. When I run Network > Design, the design log states "No flow found upstream". I have areas defined and attached to inlets. The inlets show 0.00 for all the values on the Edit/Review dialog Flow tab, except Contributing Area.. I have the same problem for pipes, all 0.00's.

What am I missing?

set maximum number of cross sections per sheet

I am trying to set up cross section sheets in ORD. I am able to create my sheets and the cross sections plot correctly. Now I want to limit the cross sections to only 2 per sheet. I cannot find a setting that will limit the number of sections per sheet. Is this possible or do I have to select the named boundaries 2 at a time when creating the sheets?

ORD Profile disappears

My profiles have disappeared from my drawing. I am working in ORD 2019 rel 1. I created profiles successfully using the Named Boundary command. The drawing model and sheet model looked good at first. When I restarted my computer the next day and opened the profile drawing, my profiles were missing. The drawing model still has the annotation for the profile, but my existing ground and proposed grade linework is gone. From the drawing model the reference for the profile says "Model not found - (AttachedLongSection)". I don't have the option to Reload the reference. I created a new profile successfully. I restarted my computer twice. The profile linework disappeared again. Does anyone have an idea what is happening?

label profile elevation of existing terrain at design PVC & PVT

I hope someone has an easy answer to this one. I am using ORD 10.07.00.56. I am almost done setting up my profile sheets. Most of my labels appear as desired. I have proposed and existing elevations at 50 foot intervals. I also need to display elevations at all PVC & PVT locations. I was able to create the proposed elevation labels, but I cannot get the existing elevations to display at the PVC & PVT. Anybody have a suggestion.

I would also like my profile slope label to be placed at the PVI extension line. When I tried to configure it at the PVI it would display 0.00% rather than the slope value. I had to settle for placing the label at the midpoint of the tangent segment. Anybody find a fix for this?

dgnlib settings overwritten by reference

I am trying to edit some dgnlib settings in ORD ver 10.07.00.56. I have made my changes to the dgnlib file. I start a new dgn. I reference my existing terrain and set it active. I reference my alignment. When I create my profiles using the Named Boundary command, it does not load my revised settings. As near as I can tell it is using the setting currently in my alignment reference. I am forced to start a new alignment dgn to reference into my profile sheet dgn just to test my revised settings.

How do I prevent the old settings from loading?

Wanted: Civil 3D User Experiences with OpenRoads

I am a Civil 3D user who is not happy with the software. I'd like to hear from C3D users who have experience with OpenRoads. I have Power Civil SS1 so I have some background with Microstation but I haven't used it for plan production since it is old technology and I didn't want to spend time learning the tools. My current workflow is to do my site modeling in Power Civil and export it to Civil 3D via LandXML for pipe design and plan production.

My main concerns are product stability, performance, pipe networks and plan production. Please feel free to share your experience with me in private if you wish.

Text Favorites Manager in Update 3 missing

I think I missed sth. I would like to test new Text Favorites Manager that was announced to be enabled with ORD Update 3 as it consumes Microstation Update 8 platform.

Is there a hidden switch to run Text Fav Manager? How to start the tool. I thought it is accessible via Text Editor, under Text Text Favorites/Manage.

In my installation it is missing. I am running 10.03.00.43.

cross section grid spacing

I am trying to setup cross section sheets in ORD 2019 Rel 1. I have all the settings done and the sheets look ok. However I cannot adjust the gap between sections. I have several sections on one sheet. The section top stops at a random elevation and not the 5 foot interval I need. Then the next section above will begin at the correct even elevation with the 5 foot gap between sections.

My problem is I want the sections to align with my preset sheet grid that covers the entire sheet. The first section will align perfect. The next section on top does not align with my sheet grid, and so on for the next section. I am using the following setting;

CIVIL_CROSSSECTION_RT_TO_LT_SPACING   = 0.01000
CIVIL_CROSSSECTION_TOP_TO_BOT_SPACING = 0.10000
CIVIL_CROSSSECTION_SIDE_MARGIN        = 0.02083
CIVIL_CROSSSECTION_TOP_MARGIN         = 1.30000

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Am I missing a setting to force the top of the section to an even elevation?

text is scaled by a factor of 120

trying to set up ORD. My text styles are being scaled by a factor of 120. I imported my text styles from SS3 and I am using seed files from local DOT. Any ideas why me text is now being scaled up by 120?

Roadway Templates

Need help setting up ORD. I want to copy my ITL file to each new project. I want to have a master copy part of the WorkSet template so when I create a new WorkSet it will copy the ITL to the new WorkSet. We will make changes to the project (WorkSet) ITL as needed. Is there a way to copy files when creating a new workset?

default cell scale factor

I am migrating from InRoads SS3 to ORD. In SS3 we had the Project Options set to use a Text Scale Factor of 25 and a Cell Scale factor of 25. How do I set a default cell scale factor in ORD? My survey points are coming in too small and need to be scaled up by a factor of 25. The only way I know to accomplish this is to edit the DGNLIB file and add a cell scale to each of the survey point code cells. Is there a global setting for the survey point cells?

I am trying to configure ORD Survey settings. I have everything set and the points import correctly into a field book. My problem is all the point cells are being placed on the Default level. I defined different levels in the element template but ORD is not using the levels from the element template. What have I overlooked?
