We are having problems with OpenRoads in MX SS4 running out of memory after repeated processing of large corridors. It seems that OpenRoads doesn't release all its memory usage on every corridor processing run so eventually we get to approx. 2500Mb of memory usage and it crashes with a "System out of Memory" message.

We are running Windows 8.1 64-bit with 32Gb of RAM. We have also got the "Lock Pages in Memory" setting enabled in Windows, but that doesn't seem to have changed anything. Is anyone else having similar issues?

It would be fantastic if so.

Testing it, it seems to be working correctly for Microstation elements but crashes when using it for Civil ones (eg. reverting elements to previous versions).

OpenRoads Terrain Import / Update Keyin Help

Hi all,

We have an OpenRoads model that includes some linear templates and surface templates built from MX strings and triangulations. The intention is for us to update our MX string model and MX triangulation(s) and re-import the strings and update the OR terrain linked tria into OpenRoads (which updates any OR linear or surface templates accordingly.

Using info in the "Supplemental Information for MX users" in the SS4 OpenRoads help, we have added a script into our input file (SCRIPT, GEOMETRY FILE IMPORT file=MX model=openroads) that successfully runs a keyin to re-import (update) the MX strings into OR that dynamically updates the OR design.

We are trying to implement the same methodology for terrains, but the example keyins "terrainmodel import file=model.fil model=DESIGN edgemethod=NoRemove" or "terrainmodel updatefromsource" do not do anything and it seems odd that the examples do no specify a triangulation name - only the model.

Does anyone have any experience in the terrainmodel import or updatefromsource that can help?

Geopak SS4 Openroads: Superelevation Rounding

Hi guys

I've applied superelevation to my road and it works fine. Now I changed my SEP file so that my superelevation incorporates rounding(parabolic). It works, but when it is applied, my corridor and banks disappears in my 2d view, and only segments of the road and banks are shown in the 2d view. Does anyone know how to fix this?
