  • RE: Is pressure load is considered in STAAD.Pro for seismic load analysis????

    Abhisek M

Yes you can apply pressure load. Generally I prefer to use floor load. But floor load and pressure load both can be used. Area load sometimes creates problem. So try to avoid this one for seismic weight.

Here is a workaround. Copy the data in installments. Filter the data in the tables based on node numbers or beams numbers or plate numbers as appropriate to reduce the amount of data to be copied in one shot. With the mouse cursor on the table, right…

Just for the records. A wiki is now created on the topic https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/39280/range-too-big-error-when-copying-data-from-staad-pro-table-to-excel

Sye, It would be very nice in cases like this to have the reaction annotation scale as you zoom in/out so that you could zoom in on a particular node and read the annotation. It would be similarly nice to have the annotation move with the model when…

  • RE: Relationship between modulus of subgrade reaction & bearing capacity

    Modestas
    Modestas
The modulus of subgrade reaction ks is a function of the contact pressure and allowable settlement on an unit area of soil. It is also known as Pressure per unit settlement. On the other hand, the safe bearing capacity is the maximum pressure which…

Ayy and Azz are cross section shear area. It usually is used in shear capacity calculations..

Dear Sirs, If there are secondary beams connected to match top of the primary beam and the primary beam is subjected to sagging moment, compression flange will be the top flange which will be restrained by the secondary beams. In that case, there is…

Dear Sir, The factor 0.85 would be applicable to the 10m beam. Hence, the effective length would be 0.85 x 10 or 8.5 m. Since we are dividing the beam into 4m component and 6 m component, if we do not give Ky/Kz/LY/LZ factors, their effective lengths…

Most likely your base units are set to English. You need to set it to Metric. From the start page of STAAD.Pro, go to Configuration > Base Unit and set it to Metric

In the non-connect edition, it was easy to view beam results: Graphs, Forces and stress. However in the latest connect edition it is difficult to find the same view. Can anyone help?

Is it possible to display only certain node numbers? When I am putting together a report I like to give a figure showing the support nodes and node numbers. If I display all node numbers in the model with ctrl+N the model is to cluttered to read.
