I hate this software so bad

Here am I just venting because I have nothing else to do with my life but stay late, not creating value for my clients or solving issues that matter but trying to get this disaster of software to work.
The number one reason why I want to quit engineering is that I have to use this software. I hate it so bad, is so unstable and everything that it promises to accomplish falls way short off, I don't get it. so sick of working hours on end to achieve nothing and then having to eat those hours myself, time that I could have spent with family or doing something productive instead of dealing with this disaster.

ORD - Moved profile named boundary

I moved the profile named boundary in my container model with the "Adjust profile named boundary" tool.

When I go to my sheet drawing model and reannotate the profile the grid annotation doesn't update.

Is there a trick to get the file to recognize the new profile boundary and vertical alignment location?

Is there a way to get the Reference Manager to stop resorting the list of references when I turn them on/off?

As I'm turning references on and off, OpenRoads automatically sorts my list of references. It is very annoying when trying to juggle a drawings with 15+ references and trying to keep track of them.

OpenRoads - Export Cross Sections to Dwg

Hello everyone,

I am a new OpenRoads user switching from Power InRoads.

I am trying to export a set of cross sections created in ORD into a one (1) dwg file. The problem is when I select a sheet set which includes more than one section or use a fence to select number of sections, the export method doesn't work and created dwg file is empty.

The exporting process works when I select only one cross section.

[SS10] referencing ORD files into V8i sheets?

I am working on a project as part of a team of firms.

The lead firm is using ORD for their design (10.10.01.03). We are providing certain design data checks and exhibits, but otherwise only using their files for graphics. We are using Power GeoPak or Power InRoads SS10 (please don't ask...). I would think that we might be able to use their files as references, even if we cannot open them. However, our files become unstable and crash shortly after these reference files are attached. Not immediately, but they do crash, after which our file simply cannot open. At all.

Am I wrong to think that we can reference ORD design files into SS10 DGN files?

Our DOT has not migrated to ORD yet. They have provided a "beta" workspace, but not a full library of ORD standards. Because of this, quite a few firms aren't bothering with the migration either. We are using the older software and older workspace so that we can get our work done with a full library of resources. A few firms are using ORD and have incorporated the beta workspace into their production workflow (although I'm not sure how). Even if we all were able to switch tomorrow, there are innumerable projects in the pipeline. We could end up working in some god-forsaken hybrid environment for far too long. If we can't even use ORD files as references, I'm in for a long decade...

How many ex MX users are struggling with ORD?

I am curious, is it just me or is ORD doing in the heads of other ex-MX users? Trying to produce profiles and sections just takes forever, I know MX could not section solids but it would be quicker to trace solids in MX as strings and cut sections via .inp then continue down this path. It is beyond painful and costing me a fortune in lost productivity.

I’ve been on this forum for 10 to 12 years and it has contributed greatly to my enjoyment of my 993. I’m getting old and increasingly feel the necessity of an old guys car. So, I was thinking of a 5 year old Bentley Continental V8 GT.. I’ve searched around for a forum similar to Rennlist but nothing comes up. Insert or Embed Excel Table in DGN File

I know this may not be the proper forum for a question like this but this is the only forum I follow regularly.

How do I embed and link a MS Excel spreadsheet within a DGN file using MicroStation Connect. I seem to remember a simple paste command in v8i but I can not find anything similar in MS Connect.

[ORD 2021 R2] Undo Command Causing Crashes

Even when undoing a simple command like drawing a line, the program grinds to a halt and either crashes or takes an unusually long time to process. Does anyone else have this issue? The undo command is convenient and I've grown accustomed to using it, but should I avoid it altogether in ORD or is there some setting I am missing?

In V8i (and all previous versions of Microstation) I have always sorted my references by "Display".

This has always worked in a similar manner to sorting by "Used" in the level display dialog...it keeps the references I am actively using at the top of the list.

In previous versions of Microstation, I could turn a reference off and it would still stay at the top of the list - unless I closed the reference dialog.

However, if I turn a reference off in ORD it instantly reverts back to it's slot order (ie. disappears from the top of the reference list).

This is very frustrating...

Is there a way to make the reference dialog behave like it has always worked in all previous versions from the last 20 years?
