I am working through the "Designing a Pond" lesson within the Intermediate Drainage Learning Path. Because I receive the "Civil Data Found that is from a newer version of a Civil Product" error when opening the provided file from the lesson, I created a new file and attached the pond as a reference. I am using OpenRoads designer CONNECT Edition V8.

The first part of the lesson guides the user through opening the pond profile. The steps from the tutorial are shown below.

I am able to execute these steps but when I do, nothing shows up in the profile view. All I get is a blank screen. When I click the "fit view" button, it tells me "No Elements Found". But, when I then try the process again, with the profile window still open, it appears to show vertical lines that correlate with different positions along the pond berm. In the image below, you can see the crosshairs shown on the right-hand side of the pond berm and a corresponding vertical red line in the profile view. As I move my cursor left to right in the profile view, moving the vertical line as I go, the crosshairs move along the top of the berm seemingly indicating the corresponding postiion on the pond. It's almost as if the profile is there but not being shown.

I'm not sure if there is something I'm doing wrong or if creating the new file is the root of this issue but I would apprecaited and advice on what may be going wrong.

Thanks

Getting error that says "civil data found that is from a newer version of a civil product" when trying to use OpenRoads Learn Server.

Hello,

I asked this question in the OpenRoads forum but was recommended to post this question here as well. You can see the other post here (https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/geopak-inroads-mx-openroads-forum/210551/getting-error-that-says-civil-data-found-that-is-from-a-newer-version-of-a-civil-product-when-trying-to-use-openroads-learn-server).

I am working through the Learn Server training lessons for OpenRoads but receive an error when opening the downloadable lesson files from the server. The error only allows me to open the file in "Read-Only" mode which prevents me from being able to work through the lessons alongside the instructor.

Full error message:

I am using OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition - 2019 Release 2 Update 7 - Version 10.07.03.18.

I've tried doing a "save as" to a different version of the software or simply just saving the file in another location and attempting to reopen it. I've gotten to where I can open the file in editable mode but it loses a lot of the data that was originally included in the file, including some required data for the lessons.

This is a PDF instruction course to walk through placing manholes, inlets, pipes, etc. All the files and references that I am using were downloaded directly from Bentley for use in this course.

I am receiving the "element not valid for tool error" when attempting to insert a node or generate a profile.

First, I receive the error when attempting to place a manhole along an existing pipe. The instructions from the PDF are shown below (left) and the screenshot of the model (right) is when I attempt to do the same. You can see the difference in the pop-up diolog box that is generated between their screenshot and mine. I'm on step 7 in the instructions.

I skipped this and went on without placing the manhole but then I received the same error when attempting to create a profile. When I attempt to click on the start node to generate the profile is doesn't seem to recognize the node. Step 6 in the PDF instructions below.

Any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

I am attempting to work through the "OpenRoads Designer - Drainage & Utilities - Fundamentals" learning path. In a video, specifically the "Exploring Drainage and Utilities Tools" video under the "Navigating Drainage and Utilities" training module, the instructor uses the "Drainage and Utilities" workflow while operating in OpenSite Designer. Unfortunately, I cannot find this workflow in OpenRoads. It is not included in the workflow dropdown list. Is this workflow only available with Opensite Designer and not OpenRoads? If so, I do not have access to OpenSite designer with my company and would be unable to complete the training or even use any of the functions included in the workflow in my design work. I cannot find any information on where I can find/install this workflow.

Any help is appreciated,

I have encountered a problem where I do not see anything in the 3D view. One of the early steps to the module is to change the view controls to see both 2D and 3D views of the project. The 2D view shows up fine but the 3D view appears to show nothin at all. I have tried to fit the view but it remains blank. See below

Could this be a problem with the files I downloaded from Bentley? Or is there something in the settings I need to change?
