Civil Analysis for Terrain from Point Cloud

For someone who has success with point cloud data-

I have downloaded some lidar from the national map and converted an LAZ file to a terrain. (Filtering out all but the existing ground layer and knocking down the intensity to make the terrain model that is 150 mb).

I can do a dynamic contour analysis in SS10 with the dtm tools > elevation tool. Analyzing contours works fine with minor lag.

In ORD I have exported the terrain to both a .tin, and a land .xml, then reimported and tried to use the Civil analysis tool on the terrain to do a dynamic contour analysis. I can get the triangle, the flow arrow, and the slope, but no contours. I checked the tool setting and the contour selection is selected. I tried a variety of combinations of the selection criteria under civil analysis, new .dgn, different workspace, clipping then exporting and reimporting a 30 mb clip of the terrain - still not working. I can get contours from simple terrains from elements - but i want to use it on these lidar surfaces.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is this a glitch, or am I missing something?

Bentley Learn Server - Layout Simple Site

I am working through learning Subsurface Utilities Applications.

One of the modules I am working through is "Laying Out a Simple Site".

I have followed the pdf and the on-demand videos and I encounter a problem when I try to Compute I am supposed to "Click No." and then the claculations are run on all the structures in the scenario.

Here is the problem - Rather that getting the GVF Report as the training modules directs me to suspect, I get this error:

Can I get some guidance on why I am not tracking with the PDF or the module videos at this point?
