  • RE: Microstation To Find Line Or Arc Of Best Fit.

BTW: In the distant past, I've created a lot of "definitions" with the best fit theme - for a variety of reasons (this one captured interpolates bezier curves AND creates a "best-fit" arc using Galapagos). Mail me your points and the arc (and any sort…

On academic level of thinking this is very easily done with parametric add on "apps" (like the evolving solver Galapagos and/or the physics solver Kangaroo) that run on top of Grasshopper (that's a Rhino "add-on"). The parametric code is called "definition…

Unknown said: I would like to get microstation to find a line of best fit That's termed regression analysis . AFAIK MicroStation has no built-in capability for that. From your other posts it looks like you might be using a civil engineer app. Doesn…

try excel instead to do the regression analysis then you use the answer to imbed into cad or export the answer or get excel to give you the equation then use the tool for equations to draw it ( forgot what its called at the moment) but excel do this better…

If you want to display elevations, you can display existing elevation of the leading rail and existing cant. Its almost the same.

Hi Stewart, I see there may be two options for your task: 1. You can create rails from the CL by using "View Geometry > Rails..." and import them as alignments for annotation 2. In Project Options / Rail tab change the "Rotate Cant About:" to Inside…

It has been a while since I have used these reports but I believe that the XYZ coordinates are the coordinates of the centerline of your alignment (in 3D so it is taking in to account your profile as well). If you would like a custom report, just find…

Ok. So let me know if you have issue in the new version. Even in the past and older version I never faced such issue.

I used the Text Import Wizard and imported all points into the cogo buffer (i.e. points 100 through 126). I then imported those points into the regression buffer. But you may / will need to change the Minimum Distance Tolerance on the Advance tab to…
