When I launch "OpenPlant Isometrics Manager V8i in AutoPLANT access mode", I recieve the following error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'... However, I don't encounter any problem when I do the same through Sample Metrics....

Irregular Shape Opening (For model exchange and opening schedule purpose)

Hello All,

I wanted to make irregular shape openings using "Place User Defined Type - Peneration" in OpenBuilding Designer where only rectangular and circular openings are available. This is not for actual slab or wall cuttings but for information exchange and creating opening schedule purpose. I cannot figure out how to do opeing with trapezoid shape as per below screenshot (green highlight). Kindly advise. Thank you.

Run-time error when accessing Project Administrator

I have one user who receives a 'run-time error'91': Object variable or With block variable not set' error when opening our company's Bentley projects in Project Administrator. He does not receive this error when opening the sample projects, no other user has ever had this issue before. Our window's versions are the same and we have the same permissions to our project database server. We have opened a Bentley help ticket but they say the issue is permissions on our end but everything on our end looks good, so we are at a bit of a stand still. Anyone have a suggestion to try?

SQL Server Connection Failed (OPPID V8i)

Hello All,

For OPPID (V8i) database migration to SQL server, I loaded SQL Server Management Studio and tried to connect the server "W10-OPM-U9-DS" as per the instruction given. Used the given username and password but it keeps failing to connect shoiwng error: 40 & 53. Please refer to below screenshot and kindly advise what to be done next. Thank you.

Some Components cannot be dropped in OPM

Dear All,

I am encountering one proplem. I wanted to update or make changes of existing piping components came from vendor or consultant. For example, a valve or flowmeter. I first tried to drop the component to manipulate. But when I dopped it in OPM, it disappered. I treid turning on/ off display set. But the issue still exists. So whenever I wanted to do that, I opened that file on Microstation or OBD, it drops easily. But for me, it's quite troublesome to open/ close in OPM & OBD. May I know what is the issue with dropping on OPM. Any other ways to expedite the process? Thank you.

How to create custom equpment in OBD

Hi Bentley Users,

Knowing that we can create custom equipment/ component in OpenPlant Modeler under Equipment - User Defined - Create Equipment, I am curious if we can create same in OBD. Our project defines to model electrical discipline on OBD. It is having difficulty to put tags & properties for electrical equipment like panels, MCC, transformers. Even though I can do it in OPM, my sub-contractor has only OBD. Thank you.

Change Default Illustration on Pop-up Tools (Shift+Reset)

I was trying to customize illustation setting on pop-up tool box (shift + reset) on both OPM & OPD. 3 default settings are 1) Modelling Illustration 2) Modelling Shaded 3) Wireframe. I wanted to change Modelling Illusration to Illusration Ignore Lighting. I followed the easy way changing in display style setting (refer to attached photo). It works but I want the permanent change. Even I saved the setting but it goes back to original (Modelling Illustration) when reopen the model. Could someone advise how to do permanent change on display style or customize the pop-up tool box. Thank you.

Updating Equipment without dropping existing information

I want to do some minor updates of the exsting equipment with some information on OPM. Normally, I will drop the equipment to cell and do all the necessary updates and then convert back to equipment and put back the information. But for the equipment with a lot of information inside, I don't want to drop and input all information again. Is there any other way to do this?

Error on OPM CE Item Details

Dear All,

I tried exporting item details like pipe, fittings & valves from OPM CE explorer tool. But one error comes out and it didn't save as excel worksheet. Could anyone knows how to solve, please advise me? Thank you.
