Civil Labeler...What works for you?

We are running FDOT Connect on the 10.11 release. We just implemented 10.11 this month, and the civil labeler some how is worse.

Here are the issues we are having:

1. Undo button deletes all civil labels, and you can't undo

2. Some labels will rotate to random angles after you leave the file that we can figure out (it's not the unrotated angle)

3. The civil label manager is now gone from the civil labeler dialogue box

Has anyone had these issues, and what have been your workarounds to successfully deliver a quality project?

Aerial transparency

FDOT Connect/ORD User here. I am trying to do plan over plan sheets, and on of my aerial raster references is printing at the set transparency, and the other is not. It appears as it should in CADD, but not in PDF. Any ideas why or how to fix??? Thanks!

ORD 10.11 Cross Section Annotation

Hello, I am trying to annotate my cross section slopes. My preview shows up correct, but it still will not place any annotations other than my gridlines. Any suggestions?

Civil Labeler- DONT HIT UNDO!!!

Hello all,

I am an FDOT Connect User. We are having issues when using the new civil labeler tool. If we try to undo a command, it deletes all callouts that we have created using the civil labeler tool, and it doesn't allow you to re-do the command. We have lost so much progress on plan labeling because of this. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what is the work around?

Cross section annotation

Hello, my cross sections are not labeling the cross slopes of my proposed shoulders. I am using the default cross section annotation group. Is there something I am doing wrong in my template design? How does the annotation group even know what to label? Is it based on points, lines, features? Thanks!

ORD Sheet Index

Is there a trick to moving sheets up and down in the Sheet Index? It appears that ORD will only allow new sheets to be added to the bottom of the index. Is anyone else running into this issue?

FDOT Connect Earthwork

Hello all, FDOT Connect User here.

When calculating earthwork shapes in ORD, my overbuild and milling shapes are calculated as fill. Anyone know how to troubleshoot?

See the image below for reference. There is no pavement reconstruction, so there should be no mainline earthwork except for some shoulder reconstruction and tie downs.

Computer Crashes when opening points for edit in Template designer

When I open a point in a template to edit constraints and properties, my workstation will crash. If I wait long enough (5-10 minutes) it will open the point but that's just not an option obviously.

I have tried making a new template, making a new ITL, creating templates live in the DGN, but nothing has worked. ITL on my desktop also wouldn't work (I am working through ProjectWise).

I have used our clear crash tool and workspace doctor tool, and restarted my Pc several times. No luck.

I didn't do anything specific while this happened, it just randomly stopped working and I lost a lot of work.

Has anyone had this problem?

Creating an existing DTM from LiDAR point cloud

I am using ORD connect and also have TopoDOT.

Extracting cracks in rigid concrete pavement

Hello all.

I am having trouble locating rigid concrete pavement deficiencies in my point cloud. I am only able to identify roughly 90% of cracks in my concrete that I can see from my imagery. I am using OpenRoads designer to analyze my point cloud. My question is this: Is ORD powerful enough to do such analysis or should I learn how to use Topodot? I don't know if I am using ORD to its full potential or if it simply is not built to do such analysis.

Border Cell missing linework in Sheet model

Hello all, my sheet model is not displaying all of the linework for the border cell. The cell looks fine in the .cel file, and when i try to drop another cell in the sheet model it still appears to be missing linework.

Cant create surface from Point Cloud
