I understand that there is a new 'version' of file created with the new release, however there is also a new workspace installed.

My question is, if we have a corporate workspace that was built with 2021 R2 or earlier, do we need to use the newly created 2022 R1 workspace or can we specify the old one without any issues?

We are having a hard time understanding what changes in the workspace and some are thinking we have to copy all our customized files over to the new workspace but don't want to loose any new data that got install.

I would be grateful for any advice on how to annotate the edge of pavement elevation in the plan and force the annotation to follow the corridor alignment station.

Please see the snapshot below. we can annotate the EOP elevation by "Feature Annotation" in SS4, also choose the corridor alignment to locate the annotation. But in ORD, we can create one "favorite text" and add this "favorite text" into the "annotation group" to annotate the feature line elevation (Z), but it always follows their own station (not the corridor alignment). I am just wondering is there any chance to annotate corridor feature lines elevation but following the corridor alignment station.

Best Regards,

When i create my named boundaries along the alignment, there is no option to "ADD KEYSTATION" as there was in InRoads.

The nodes and conduits have been placed using the default installed libraries of pipes and manholes.

When i project the hydraulic runs on to a profile, both of the systems appear on the Util_Storm_Conduits and Util_Storm_Nodes layers.

I can map them over but if i make changes or have to reload the references, that gets lost.

I looked at the Template Manager and made a copy of the StormWater folder and called it StormWater-Proposed and changed the layers for all the subcatagories to *-PROPOSED.

I went thru in plan view and changed the nodes and conduits of the proposed system to the PROPOSED template but it isnt working.

Long story short, need to place existing features and proposed features so they appear in plan, profile, and section on different layers. We had this working in Inroads by having 2 seperate symbologies and feature styles.

We have a set of drawings that each reference a border and another file twice (that is empty but has nested attachments). The sheets are basically plan over plan drawings.

Here is the flow:

Sheet GEO-1.dgn

xref: border: Z:\CADD_PROJECTS\16\16012\CONTRACT SURROUNDS\16012-Frame Plan_250-GEO.DGN

top plan: Z:\CADD_PROJECTS\16\16012\CONTRACT XREF\16012-XREF-GEO.DGN

bot plan: Z:\CADD_PROJECTS\16\16012\CONTRACT XREF\16012-XREF-GEO.DGN

We sometimes have over 20 some odd sheets. But we use the same layout for similar drawings i.e. one set of 20 sheets for removals, another for geometry, another for pavement markings.

What I am trying to do is, once i have one set put together, lets say geometry as the examples show above. Is to copy those 20 sheet dgn files, and make 20 removal sheet files and rename them. This i have been able to do no problem however, and here's where i need help. For the removal sets the sheets need to set up as follows:

Sheet REM-1.dgn

xref: border: Z:\CADD_PROJECTS\16\16012\CONTRACT SURROUNDS\16012-Frame Plan_250-REM.DGN

top plan: Z:\CADD_PROJECTS\16\16012\CONTRACT XREF\16012-XREF-REM.DGN

bot plan: Z:\CADD_PROJECTS\16\16012\CONTRACT XREF\16012-XREF-REM.DGN

Is there a batch process that can do this if i put file directory1 / file name1 --> file directory2 / file name2 into a txt batch process?

Basically don't want to double click, browse, accept, on three files every sheet.

I have read a little bit about refrename.mvba but i am not a programmer and have no knowledge of VBA or the like. Plus we will use this batch process many times for the job, don't mind editing a text file each time. And we'll use it for many jobs.

Any and all help would be appreciated, please respond in layman's terms. Thanks
