The challenge is, is it possible to have Renditions generate a sheet number or reference from an Excel file for a master sheet number list based on the dgn filename? For example, ab003.dgn will have sheet no. 3 and cd006 will have sheet number 6, respectively. In the past, when printing using Print Organizer with text-string, it would be easier to do this.

Is there a way to auto-copy Length data to the clipboard? For example, after I measure a line string, I measured the actual length and then, separately label this line's name plus copy&paste data from last measurement. If there is a way to auto-copy the data, that would cut down the processing time by 50%, i.e. multiple mouse-clicks.

p/s: I tried the method Label Lines and Shapes from Jon Summers but somehow if my file is opened from ProjectWise, the tool only shows the data as a dot.

OK, this will be a fun one to tackle :)

Basically, the client wants to display the background topographic as fine dotted-black lines, the linetype remains the same.

When using a combination of pltcfg and pen (design script) files, it used to work but now not sure what happened, the lines somehow got override to be printed as a continuous lines rather than the native linetype. For example, a striping line is plotted as a continuous line rather than a typical striping-dash line.

Question is, can someone help to tweak the pltcfg or pen files parameters for the output to be correct?
I suspect these 2 files could be the problem or may be something else like configuration files may be.

See attached picture and printing files for reference

A - correct output

B - incorrect output

Attached pltcfg and pen file. Pen file is attached as design script.

Is there a way using keyin to lock keypoint snap type? I tried using keyin "snap keypoint" or "snap multisnap 1", the changes are temporary, once done with say drawing a line, the snap option will revert to the original snap type.
This is the first time seeing this issue, I have no idea what the double quotation means. So I am using ProjectWise. In this situation, I referenced in a container-file with "Live Nesting" turn on. The files with the check marks I can turn on and off like we usually do. However, the one with those double quotation marks, I can't do anything at all. Then I open this container-file, all the referenced works fine...

I am sure that someone has thought of this already, and maybe there is a forum or posting that answers this question, but i have not found it yet. I am wondering if there is either a custom tool out there that someone has created, or if maybe there is something already in V8i SS1 that i have overlooked for placing text automatically along with placing a cell that labels the cell in question.

In other words, if i were to place a cell named "W16x45" (a structural beam end section) into a drawing, and now i need to label this cell, i am wanting text with a leader that will automatically be generated upon clicking this tool. This would be really quite helpful when detailing. If this tool were to incorporate the active level and active text style, that would be wonderful!

"Thanks for playing along!"

keyin ROTATE VIEW ELEMENT; %d;%d;ACTIVE ANGLE PT2

( THE ABOVE COULD BE SET TO AN F KY IF YOU USE IT ALOT)

You'll be prompted t select an element ( text or line or shape) to set the view rotation

Then you'll need to Tentatative twice on the reference line element ( the one you want to rotate to) one end first and then the other end last

now you active angle is the angle of the reference line

next we click on the rotate icon and it has the new angle set, so now click on the text or element you want rotated

now key in vi=top to return the view ot original state and our text or line as adopted the angle of the reference element line...

I tried to make another keyin

rotate icon;%d;vi=top

but it works like this select the text to rotate, data point in the view and reset button mouse. then it rotates the text to right angle and sets view back to normal but doesnt

work if you use your mouse buttons in any other order it fails to do what you want cant work out why but works.. other wise the rotate bit can view top can just be done by hand or icons etc

Autocad has all this much easier R for rotate and option is reference so r and two clicks and done...

I wish we had a simple tool or macro with two clicks...
