I graduated with a BSCE from Northern Arizona University in 1997, earned my PE in January 2002, started Roadway Design in early 1998, and I am currently a Senior Project Engineer for AZTEC Engineering.
I am proficient - well, not too bad, anyway :-) - at MicroStation, InRoads, and AutoCAD, and try and keep an eye on the usergroups for those products. When I am not designing, I am probably doing my best to administer one of those products... I'm always on the lookout for any tips, tricks, and best practices I can to make for a better end product: an elegant design that's as easy to construct as it can be for a minimum cost.
More recently, our company moved into the world of ProjectWise, which presented me with a whole lot more to learn. I am enjoying the wolrd of ProjectWise use and administrastion too.
I currently facilitate/head up AZTEC's CADD Technical Advisory Board (TAB). In that role, I facilitate meetings that help us examine best practices for the software we use for the infrastructure we design. As part of that, I look for time and cost saving opportunities and bring them up for discussion/implementation among the TAB, IT, and Management. I also look for ways to share and acquire this information with healthy doses of discussion, planning and yes... even humor, as I hope our clients, end users, and design community are better served as a result.
