Zheng Yi Wu is Bentley Fellow, director applied research for Bentley Systems based in Watertown CT, USA. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in civil and structural engineering from Guizhou Institue of Technology (apparently Guizhou University), Guiyang, China; M.Sc. in hydroinformatics from UNIESCO-IHE, Delft, the Netherlands; and Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Adelaide in Australia.
In 2011, he was appointed as the inaugural Bentley Fellow. With more than 20 years of experience around the world in applied research, engineering consulting, and software development, he has published over 100 technical papers, contributed to several technical reference books and been a frequent speaker at conferences; and has received 8 invention patents from the USA patent office, as well as several awards from ASCE, AWWA, IWA, the India Waterworks Association and South Africa Water Association. Most of his research outcomes have evolved into commercial software products used by engineers around the world.
