Update to Vertical Alignment during revision to Horizontal Alignment

In ORD, I have a 10km road alignment, Start Station:0+000, End Station: 10+000

When I tried to revise the Horizontal Alignment between km 4+000 to 5+000, The vertical Profile Levels of the unchanged Horizontal portions also revised automatically.

In Mx , when we revise the horizontal alignment, the vertical alignment elements for the effected portion deleted, we need to revise the vertical alignment, but the vertical profile levels at unchanged portion does not change.

Actually, Vertical alignment levels, for the unaffected portion of the Horizontal alignment , During Horizontal alignment revision should not have changed in ORD

Request for your kind help in this regard.

(As i am also a civil 3d user there is an option "add offset alignment " in which the offset line also shifts as we adjust our alignment)

Dear All

I have generated report of two Geom baselines existing and proposed and got the Track centers form Station base report for my 10km stretch, I have following queries:

1. Now I have change particular curve with respect to existing track, and now I want again the revised track centers of that particular stretch , Is there any command to get the report of that particular revised curve(from chainage to chainage) or i have to generate for full stretch to get report? For generating 10km station base report at every 10m interval takes lots and lots of time, sometimes to get this I have to keep my system running whole night.

2. When I export my Geom baseline to auto cad, and when I converted the spline to poly line , the distance between Track centers from the open rail station base report and from auto cad measuring dimension it is slightly differ. and particularly on curves. (sometimes comes 20-30mm)

3. Is there any other method to export open rail alignment to auto cad.

Please guide.

Problem in Cross section annotation

Hi all,

i am using BRT series 2, while annotating the cross section the offset distance of ground profile level not getting exactly as i wants means the offset must start 0.000(it has to show) exactly below the down line. I need two offset distance below the up and down line as 0.000 and 6.000. Please give suggestion to overcome this

Power Rail track Drainage tools

The basically we have to design drainage system parallel to our alignment and discharge to nearest CD works. The drainage system is open drain and the type of channel with various sections like trapezoidal , rectangular and perforated pip, etc.

Following output details required for drainage plan & profile drawing:

1. We required following details

a. Drainage plan with following details

i. Center line of drainage network

ii. Flow arrow.

iii. Chainage and invert level at change of point like at change of section, slope, etc

b. L-section/ In profile with following details

i. Drainage profile with following details required

1. Top levels of Drain

2. Slope of Drain

3. Size of Drain

4. Type of Drain

5. Chainage and invert level at change of point like at change of section, slope, etc.

6. Proposed design track formation line.

ii. Tabular annotation in drainage profile with following details required

1. Top levels of Drain

2. Invert levels of Drain at 20m interval.

3. Slope of Drain

4. Size of Drain

5. Type of Drain

6. Offset distance between drainage center line to designed track center line.

7. Proposed DFC Formation/ Rail levels

8. Existing Ground level

9. Track design chainage

We have used drainage design tool from PRT software and followed steps are described in attached file “Steps adopted in PRT software”.

During design we are facing following problems/ difficulties:

1. Once we place any network at some location and design network. But if we would like to change location of the network , we are not able to modify the same. i.e. Northing and Easting of the Upstream and Downstream side of the channel section.

2. We are not able to assign different type/ size of section like Trapezoidal or Rectangular channel section within single network. For example if there is a need to provide a Trapezoidal channel section with base width 0.3m for starting 0.5 km , base width 0.5m for next 0.5 km and then after 0.5km rectangular section for total network length of 1.5 km.

3. We are not able to provide curvilinear drain in the network i.e. drainage centerline is parallel to out track alignment along the track curvature.

4. We are not able to show different network in one L-section i.e. network1, network2, etc.
