Any ideas why and how do we fix it? It is happening with all plumbing components, and we are using AECOsim SS6. This issue wasn't happening 2-3 months ago (last time we used the tool).

I may be getting something completely off here, but I'm watching a weird behavior with the parallel and perpendicular 3D constraints. The parallel constraint makes the elements perpendicular and vice-versa, like they are switched. Anyone seeing the same situation?

We are having a problem with AECOsim Connect and getting the hatch and fill from element templates to work in the dynamic views. There are a couple of things we don't understand:

1) In the element templates there is a long list of pattern cells to use for hatch, but it's not clear where are they coming from. Which library is being used?

2) First the hatch wasn't appearing, so we took the cell that was designated in the template, and used it randomly in the model. After that, the hatch worked, which makes me think that probably the cell library wasn't active in the beginning.

3) We repeated the process but this second time it didn't work. So now we are thinking maybe we didn't use the correct cell library, or maybe the same cell is repeated in multiple libraries which is preventing the template to work properly.

We are using the original Connect edition, and we didn't apply any parts or anything AECOsim related.

We started a project using MS SS3 and we've been using the GCS to coordinate the different files. Now we need to work with a colleague in SS2 and he cannot read the GCS inside the files we created. He can't attach the files "Geographic-Reprojected". The option is available during the reference attachment process, but when it completes, it appears in the reference menu as Coincident instead of Reprojected.

Talking about elevations views and sections views. Why not an optional fill setting in the family and parts dialog in the "drawing symbology" section called "F&R fill color"?

It would be the same you have in the "Cut patterns" but for the forward an rear views. We think it would be very time saving and very useful. For example we can get elevations or sections views with free solid colors in the walls. We can't get in a very easy way demolition view and section plans or finishes plans.
We don't need to worry about the geometrical map/hatch define by default in for the rendering material. They update in a automatic way if you change the geometry (not as dimensions!!! sorry for the outburst). They can also save a lot of time in 2D "embellishment annoying process.

I have also attached several sub-models (separate DGN's) for buildings etc on site, and have pushed the National Grid GCS to those sub-models. Those are then referenced back in using AEC Transform as the placement method.

When I open any sub-model, looking under ACS's I see the National Grid ACS (as well as a couple of Military / WGS84 entries). In the sub-model, if I go Tools > Geographic > Open Location in Google Maps, and click a point, my Google Maps loads with a pin in the correct location on-site, so the National Grid Northings and Eastings are definitely traceable from the sub-model.

I envisaged that I would be able to, in the sub-model, set the ACS to British National Grid, and draw or import coordinates by site Northing & Easting. Then flip back to "BASE" ACS and continue working in the building local coordinate system. This behaviour, however, is not what I'm getting at all - the origin stays as 0,0 all the time, and when I place a coordinate label the X,Y,Z values are local rather than to National Grid.

I'm basically trying to import Northing/Easting coordinates into a sub-model and have them automatically transform to the building coordinate system using the already-defined helmert transformation. Is this possible?

Generative component and AECOsim SS6

Hello ,
