I'm hoping someone with experience editing structures.dat files will be able to spot my problem. I have customized an agency-provided .DAT file by getting rid of most unused items and providing a relatively concise list of the pipes, manholes, inlets applicable to a current project. I am aware that .DAT files can be edited within InRoads but also via text edit, and I have edited these types of files by text edit many times in the past (usually adding a structure or modifying an attribute) - and have had no issues.

But in this case, even after editing very carefully....with the attached file, I'm getting a message "Error Reading structure file. Error right after line string = 'STEVE ST EX Generic,F,8in' in Inlets Section. Being pointed in the right direction by the error message hasn't helped me spot anything amiss. I tried deleting this entry, removing the next entry, changing spacing in the name, etc. - no luck. Any ideas?

Using V08.11.07.494.

Thank you!

The thread I had tried to respond to discussed when to use more than one SDB file, which to me implies that using separate SDB files might be a common workflow. But since two can't be opened at once, how does one then combine the SDBs later so that all info can be displayed. For example, we are using one SDB to house existing utilities on a densely-utilitied urban project...and another to house our proposed storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and relocated utilities (gas, water, etc.). But how then do we display both existing and proposed utilities in the same (drainage) profile?

Thanks for any guidance,
