i have some problems in response spectrum analysis.

Please find attached Staad input files (One is for X directional spectrum and another one is for X & Z spectrums).

1) In my First file ,I want to use my first mode base shear as My first load case with Faactor 1.0 and the same First mode base shear with factor 0.7 (Empty case). But the support reactions i am getting is totally different for Two load cases. Also i try to combine load case 1 with other load cases,Correseponding base shear is not used.In my model, when i use first time,it is reading First mode response. When i use the same generated caes in another load case,it is using second mode response. Why? can you please check the input?

2) in My second staad file, i have spectrums in X and Z directions.I want to use the First mode of X spectrum as load case 1 and Second mode of Z spectrum as load case 2.This is also not returning the base shears correctly. Can anyone check the input file and correct it.

Thanks in advance.

I am new member of the forum and am looking for some answers in regards to one of my Staad Pro models.

Greatly appreciate some information from you all experienced engineers.

Can we super-postion two models in Staad Pro?

I have

1. Model-1 with some DL and Prestressing loads with a roller condition at one end support. ( for stage-1 during structure erection)

2. Model-2 with all other DL+LL and wind loads as applicable to the whole structure. The support conditions are changed to pinned ( post erection)

I would like to get the member forces from model -1 to be super-positioned with model-2 ( or superposition member forces from these two models). Can STAAD carry out this task?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Regards

David Chacko

which contains lots of std files in this folders, but I can't find descriptive documents for these examples,

Does the documents exist? if the answer is yes, then where it is located?

if not, does Bentely plan to make a document for these examples?

Other commercial softwares, like Sap2000, ETabs, Midas Gen, Midas Civil, Ram, Risa, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, all have detailed documents for their examples.
