I cannot sign-in to ArcGIS to use the Topo Import - ESRI. Why is my login not working to use the tool?

Answer:

In order to use the tool, you must have a subscription with ArcGIS. If you do not have a subscription, then you will get the Cant Login message and the tool will not work. Specifically, you will need to have a Foundational user, then you can use any Dependent user type.

You can find more information about the user subscriptions at the link below:

However, I cannot get the north arrow to orient true north automatically, with respect to each rotated plan sheet.

It is recommended that you install Autodesk applications/products such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D from Autodesk because this issue does not occur when you do so. There have been instances in the past where certain third party providers have included something else in the installation package that causes OpenRoads Designer to not work properly. One of these third party providers is CQI from Symetri.

So, I received a .dwg export from Revit. All elements on the same layer - shared cells, mesh for top of element, side of elements and bottom as well. I need only the top surface for the construction guys. Normally I would select one topmesh at a time and put it on a isolated layer, but it is very time demanding for bigger models.

So I got an idea to test if I could use some of the mesh tools to create a topsurface mesh more easily and smaller error risk...

I followed the steps: empty (3d seedfile) dgn, referenced in the .dwg, merge the needed elements in my file, dropped the shared cells (as the tools did not read it), now I tried 2 things:

1. Tool "Create drape mesh": almost did it, but I could only drape from z=0? and therefore I did a bottom drape, but I need a topmesh. Am I using the tool wrong?

2. Tool "Shrink wrap mesh": Did it quite good but wrapped it as promised - sides and bottoms included (please see picture below). Anyone knows if I can extract only the top from this wrapped mesh?

and several others...

Any experience on this or suggestions?

Thanks, Signe

Also the dgnlib that is left in the folder is not showing the updates I made to it. What am I doing wrong? I also can not update standards from the library. Any input would be awesome. Thanks!

I wanted to show a multiple barrel culvert in OpenRoads. I updated it to "2" barrels in the Utility Properties and the invert elevation was not adjusted, but as you can see in the picture the 3D conduit is showing a vertical offset from the invert elevation. (When the conduit is laid out the invert matches the SUDA point/sphere)

It vertically offsets the same amount in elevation whether 2, 3, etc. barrels are updated, any idea why?

Thanks!

[ORD 2021 R1] Can we get SUDA Change Tracking for ORD Geometry/Corridors?

Hi all,

I have just seen the SUDA Change Tracking feature in ORD 2021 Release 1 which is something we urgently need in the main ORD toolset. We tried DGN Design History, but since the "Restore" option can't be turned off we cant use it (as it will destroy the model).

Can I please request this as an enhancement as i know all users desperately want this.

Regards,

I am working through the "Designing a Pond" lesson within the Intermediate Drainage Learning Path. Because I receive the "Civil Data Found that is from a newer version of a Civil Product" error when opening the provided file from the lesson, I created a new file and attached the pond as a reference. I am using OpenRoads designer CONNECT Edition V8.

The first part of the lesson guides the user through opening the pond profile. The steps from the tutorial are shown below.

I am able to execute these steps but when I do, nothing shows up in the profile view. All I get is a blank screen. When I click the "fit view" button, it tells me "No Elements Found". But, when I then try the process again, with the profile window still open, it appears to show vertical lines that correlate with different positions along the pond berm. In the image below, you can see the crosshairs shown on the right-hand side of the pond berm and a corresponding vertical red line in the profile view. As I move my cursor left to right in the profile view, moving the vertical line as I go, the crosshairs move along the top of the berm seemingly indicating the corresponding postiion on the pond. It's almost as if the profile is there but not being shown.

I'm not sure if there is something I'm doing wrong or if creating the new file is the root of this issue but I would apprecaited and advice on what may be going wrong.

Thanks

Profile Intersection Point not showing up

Using two centerlines w/ feature definitions and active profiles, the Profile Intersection Point tool does not generate the point in the profile view.
