&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;I have a question regarding consolidation calculation. As you can see, the tutorial on &lt;/span&gt;&amp;ldquo;&lt;span&gt;Construction of a road embankment&lt;/span&gt;&amp;rdquo;&lt;span&gt; &amp;nbsp;(p72) noted that this analysis applied the consolidation analysis (p79). I think the total consolidation settlement includes the elastic settlement, primary settlement, and secondary settlement.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span&gt;Does consolidation calculation way consider the Plastic calculation for the elastic settlement? If this is a fact, the elastic effect calculates automatically in analysis, right?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span&gt;What exactly is the difference between Plastic calculation and Consolidation? &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Please answer me.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

When we select &amp;ldquo;Site Response&amp;rdquo; from the &amp;ldquo;Modify soil layers&amp;rdquo; menu, Plaxis automatically converts the main geometry of the model into 1D geometry and the meshing is also done with 6-noded elements.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I would like to know, whether such meshing is OK for the Site Response Analysis, OR I have to modify the mesh size as suggested in Plaxis 2D (2015) Ground Response Analysis report, i.e., the suggestion of Kuhlmeyer &amp;amp; Lysmer (1973).&lt;/p&gt;
