&lt;p&gt;In the &amp;quot;Hammer STM&amp;quot; dialogue, &amp;quot;Width of all Compressive Struts&amp;quot; is a required input. Could you please let me know what exactly it is? Please have a look at the attached picture first (from AASHTO LRFD 2014).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Question 1: In picture a), there are two transverse dimensions for a strut. One is la*sin(theta), the other is 6da. Which one is the &amp;quot;width of compressive struts&amp;quot; in RC Pier?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Question 2: The angle and la are different from strut to strut. How can we decide the input value in the &amp;quot;Hammer STM&amp;quot; dialogue? since it is for &amp;quot;all Compressive Struts&amp;quot;.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We are modelling truss bridge. The geometry of the structure is as described below&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The cross section consists of concrete deck supported on stringer beams. The stringer beams are inturn supported of floor beams. The floor beams connect to the bottom chord of the truss.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;While modelling connections between stringer beams and floor beams master node slave node concept is used.&amp;nbsp; Is that correct approach? Also Master slave node is used in global Y direction.&lt;/p&gt;
