I am trying to use Python script in Plaxis to automate my work and I am stuck with extruding multiple surfaces to volumes:

here is my code:

for i in range(1000):

    g_i.extrude((g_i.Polygon_i), 0, 0, 1)

the error message:

AttributeError: Requested attribute 'Polygon_i' is not present

Please note I need to extrude thousands of surfaces and it will vary based on the different problems.

Thank you very much for your reply!

As explained in communities.bentley.com/.../how-to-prescribe-a-dynamic-displacement, the amplitude of the motion is double when body wave reaches a free surface due to impossibility of transmitting stresses and therefore ux,start,ref= 0.5m to account for that. However, it's still a question when the result shows peak acceleration is about half and one time of input signal at the bottom and the surface, respectively. In Plaxis version 2011 the displacement is only set as 0.01 to convert cm to m for input SMC file. Something is still not clear for me to understand the above explanation and to decide the input in our project case. Would anybody explain me more clearly?

Thank you!

What is the meaning of "Maccel" value in the calculation kernel?

Hello everyone

I wonder about the meaning of the Maccel value. I checked the Plaxis 2D reference manual and it says "The value of this parameter is always 0."

Why it's always zero and what does it do?

Thank you
