I am experiencing a lot of headaches over the lack of versatility in the sheet model environment.

Some pavement markings (linestyles) are vintage and may or may not be subject to annotation scale. We are in the process of converting linestyles used in V8i to ORD and determining which ones should be subject to scale and which ones shouldn't. In the meanwhile, we are overriding linestyle scale from annotation scale to linestyle scale.

Trouble comes in when we sheet plan and profile sheets from the default model, where the view is set to what we want to see on the sheets prior to cutting, we usually get a less than desired view once it gets to the sheeted models.

Examples, scales not right in linestyles, fill off when it should be on, and cells at innacurate scales.

I know there are a lot of different ways to control linestyle vs. anno scale and how to control fill, clip boundaries and level overrides from default to sheet models. Has anyone found a good workflow so that we can get a consistent result upon sheeting? Ones that look like our display in the default model?

My current workaround is to go into the sheet models and changing my plan reference from live nested to copy attachments. At least that way, I have more control over these factors as a user. This workaround is ok when I have 10 plan and profile sheets, but not if I have say 40 of them.

Any advice? Or is there a config somewhere that allows copy attachments vs live nesting in the sheeting process?

THANK YOU!

Sincerely,

I am experiencing weirdness with my alignment/profile in OpenRoads Designer 2021 R1.

I have a 3 mile trail with many horizontal and vertical curves. I know there may have been limitations with Geopak/V8i with the number of vertices in a profile, but was hoping it wasn't in ORD. In the 3D view, there is a chord shown through a section of my alignment. I have deleted .upf and deleted the 10.0 folders in efforts to fix, but it hasn't. I have tried a couple of times and the last time there was a large gap in my 3D view instead of a chord, and not in the same station range.

Does anyone know if it is due to the number of horizontal and/or vertical PI's in this alignment and profile?

Sometimes there is a need to modify a Plan Named Boundary. Perhaps you don't need to show part of the last sheet that lies beyond the project limits, or you need to modify a shape's vertices for various reasons. I tried this in the Drawing model, but there is no way to change the reference clipping boundary in the Drawing Model. I then modified the Named Boundary manually in the Design Model. However, the resulting Drawing Model's reference files move and they are no longer at the correct coordinates. Is this how it is supposed to work? I can clip or mask the referenced drawing models in the sheet files, but there is no way to expand the Named Boundary outside of it's original limits. You can only clip it smaller or mask part of it.

I would like the ability to change the shape and/or the extents of the Drawing model that ultimately show up on sheets. Is this possible?

It was much simpler with the Plan and Profile Generator in GEOPAK without the need for intermediate Drawing Models. I'm not seeing the advantage of this new workflow.

searching feature definitions

Hello!
