I have a Paper/Sheet Space with the current file referenced - and when I clip the reference the clipping extents then become printable.

Below is if the reference is turned on.

Below is if the reference is turned off.

As you can see the dotted line is the clipping line - no matter what I try I can seem to get rid of it - I am worried that the previous user has modified the configurations with microstation to always plot this - but I dont know where to look. He has since left the company and I am on my own with this.

Any help would be great.

thanks

I have tried searching with google and havent had much luck.

Autocad has the ability similar to Excel to have a custom data field (eg. modifying a date data field from 05/28/1988 to 28/05/88 just by changing variables.

I would like to be able to have a data field that automatically uses the file name as the drawing number - but with out the guff at the end of the file name (eg. 1900-SS-S-0001 Control Plan R01 becomes within the paper space drawing number field 1900-SS-S-0001 )

I would also like to add a Revision Field that looks at the end of the file name.

Any help even if it is - "It cant be done" is appreciated.

I am not the best user of the forums.

Thanks

I have generated construction drawings from a substation model by creating a drawing (not sheet) view in the model then placed that view as a reference on a construction drawing. The first issues i had was the drawing that was reference was not sowing up in the print, after a bunch of clicking I found that if i set the Nested Attachments to copy attachments the drawing showed up in the PDF. Now that i can see the model I tried printing - it takes minutes to print and generates >17mB file for one drawing (A01) raster is turned off as well as 3D plotting . I could reduce the resolution but i would prefer not to. When I look at the construction drawing from the side (3D orientation) I see the complete model with the drawing border and any elements on that drawing as a line thought the model. I suspect the PDF driver is capturing all this information. Am i doing something incorrect in setting up the construction drawing or the Bentley PDF driver. We using a drawing view instead of a sheet view for the reference so we could configure the drawing. We could not get hidden line to display properly when the reference was a sheet view. The model is 36mB. I have tried with a Bluebeam driver and got the same result.

Thanks for any help!

Print Organizer SLOW

Whenever I plot off my project using Print Organizer, it is very slow. It takes approximately 30 seconds per PDF. Does anyone know how to speed this process up?
