I am designing a beam in RCDC V10 from analysis file of etabs. I want to achieve economy in my section, so I changed the preferred bar spacing depending on width as shown in figure.

Now when I click Auto design and look edit the properties of my beam, here's what I get:

The bottom bars can be used as 2 bars of 12mm dia. But when I click on changing it, it says spacing criteria violated.

The preferred bar spacing set at first was 2 now it has changed automatically to 3.

Can you please explain this?

Etabs result to rcdc

Why do beams that passed in Etabs fail in staad rcdc.

RCDC v10, beam design - Beam continuum section - Beam are considered as cantilever, where there should be support on both sides. I designed columns first in RCDC V10, then my etabs analysis fie (tables to access file) is used to design beams floor by floor. I am designing ground floor beams first. When I import the file and RCDC shows data of the beam (beam continuum), it shows some of the beams are cantilever when they should be supported on both sides by columns. I imported the column rcdc file and rcdc says, column size and column mark imported successfully. Now when I click on on the beam, it has only one support, when it should have 2 supports. See fig.

When I click on beam and hit add support option it gives me only option of B20. Can you please clarify this?

Unsupported EDB file format for linking with ETABS 2018

Hi, instead of exporting entire model and analysis data and use it directly on RCDC, I decided to use the method specified in documentation for ETABS 15 & 16 and I got this error. When Option 2 is selected the output has an image where most of the beam details are empty except for a few. ALso in the remarks column it says "Refer Detail".
