Connection client blocking USTN.m01 file

We are using MicroStation V8i with some kind of 'managed workspace'. We are using an application that builds a user-specific configuration on startup of MicroStation. After closing MicroStation, the configuration is deleted.
Recentley I installed MicroStation V8i SS10 (08.11.09.919). At deleting the configuration Windows is telling me that Ustn.M01 (old interface file) file is in use by Bentley.Licensing.Service for windows. Only after killing both the Bentley.Licensing.Service and the Connection Client via the Task manager I was able to delete the file.

Does anyone know why Connection Client keeps track of the old, deprecated Ustn.M01 file?

Display rules levels filter

Hi,

I was hoping to create a display rule with the criteria like "ELEMENT.Elements.Level = K*". But the condition editor only allows me to choose ONE level, I can't type a custom name.

I also see any way of using existing levels filter in the condition editor.

Is there any way of creating a critera to sort out levels by name?

configuration explorer

I have made several workspaces and worksets on my network. I address these through shortcuts with a commandline parameter -wr<Networkpath>. This works fine for MicroStation, but the Confuguration Explorer ignore this parameter so I can't check the desired workspace/workset. Is there a way to have Configuration Explorer configured to read this parameter or is there a work around to have Configuration Explorer looking in the desired network environment?

Named expression to check (raster) attachments

Update linestyles from dgnlib

Hallo,

Is there a way to update linestyles in a DGN file from a dgnlib, more or less in the same way as it is possible to update levels and textstyles from a dgn library? I know there is a way to update linestyles from a rsc file, but this is in my situation not possible, Or is there a way to delete all old linestyle definitions (used and unused) from a dgn and recreate them on the fly?

Reason behind this question is that users have old files with old linestyles. In their new environment the want to use the new linestyles, but because the old linestyles already exist in the dgn, lines stay displayed with the old linestyles. They have no clue (or possibilities) to find out what rsc file the have to update from while textstyles or levels can by simply updated with one button/command.

Open MicroStation Connect in a specific workspace

I've build a configuration with three workspaces, each for a different client. Each client has his own projects, so I populated each workspace with appropriate worksets for client's projects. Organization level stores my company overall settings and libraries. Now I like to start MicroStation in one specific workspace so my user directly can select a project to work with associated tot that specific client. The command line argument -wk would do the job, except that It MUST be used in combination wit the -ww argument.

Is there another way to start MicroStation forced to land in a specific workspace without having to specify a workset?

Hello to the Community.

I have a set of DGN files where I have to change the colors of the entities. These colors are coming from values of the standard MicroStation color table. I have to convert them to RGB mode that existing colors. I use Save As DGN but I can not indicate the RGB color correctly in the CSV files. Nothing is happening. Can you help me ? Thank you.

How to clean up customizations from gui dgnib?

I have made several customization into different gui DGNlibs. In one of them I made a typo, which now appears in every ribbon where this button is used. I have it changed in the appropriate DGNlib, but it still appears telling me it is coming from another DGNlib where I earlier had deleted this item from the Ribbon. Now scrolling through all these DGNlibs and customizations I see a lot of old and sometimes mistakenly made buttons, tabs and groups and now I think one of these old items is preceding over the one I need. Is there a way to clean up unused customizations from DGNlibs?

Attach Icon to submenu in CONNECT Ribbon

I am using a Ribbon containing Splitbuttons and DropDownButtons. Under these I want to make SubMenu's with a few MenuItems (like the old Menubar pulldown menu's with two (or more) stages). Now the SplitButton and DropDownButton each can have their appropriate Icons attached to it and also the MenuItems have their Icons, but the Submenu itself doesn't show up with an icon, see image. Although in the customize ribbon menu there is an option to attach an icon to the submenu, as soon as you klick Apply the icon is detached.

It would be nice if submenu's also can have icons attached to it.
