We were assured in a Service Request to Bentley that there would be/was an additional option to turn it OFF, and use the user's currently Active WorkSet when the DGN is opened.

in our organization we work in a workspace/workset configuration within our cad operators have to load/open different dgn files not assigned to any worksets.

Is there an environment variable/method/function im CONNECT to suppress the workset verification? Because the dgn files were manipulated from different worksets. An assignment to only one workset isn't practical.

I moved the dgn files to directories the variables MS_WORKSETMISMATCH_ALERT_EXCLUDE_* are pointing to but at all times the workset alert message appers.

best regards

We do *not* want the WorkSet Mismatch notification simply turned off. We typically want the currently Active WorkSet to be used for any DGN file that a user opens up, or at least have that option.

When Bentley was originally describing their ‘fix’ to this issue, they proposed setting it so the DGN file’s branded WorkSet (if any) was going to be the default; this is the opposite of what we usually want/need.

I amended our Service Request to Bentley to stipulate that we would like to have the following options:

1-leave it as is (notify of WorkSet mismatch)

2-use currently Active WorkSet

3-use the DGN file’s currently branded WorkSet.

We have over 20 WorkSets, and DGN files could be worked on by several overlapping WorkSet users, so if someone wants to batch Plot, or other operation, they want to use their currently Active WorkSet, and not be notified about a mismatch. Other times, they may want the notification. However, we definitely do not want to always use whatever WorkSet the DGN file is already branded with.

Are the above options being considered as a solution to the WorkSet Mismatch notification issue?

TIA,

If you specify: RIBBON CUSTOMIZATIONS EXPORTECXML <filename.XML>, it 1) asks you if you want to save the file, and 2) it doesn't even save the file (that I can find). Even if I leave off an output XML filename -- and allow it to write to the default location -- I still get a dialog confirming that I really want to write to the default file location (in my profile %temp% folder). That works, but I cannot get rid of the confirmation dialog.

Two questions:

1. Is there any way to suppress the output XML file confirmation, either default location or a specific location? <-- (this is the primary concern)

2. When you specify an output XML file, it confirms your decision, but does not write to the file. Is this by design?

Or, are we doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,
