I will export a calculation with Chinese language in STAAD.Pro Connect Edition 8. Please tell me how to do.

Regarding the Steel Code of Chinese

In the checking code under Chinese Code of GB 50017-2017, STAAD is to defined the member type as Beam and Column by the geometry or stress type. If a framing beam is taken the axial force and bending moment, it will be defined a Beam (Geometry condition) or a Column ( Stress type). Obviously, the framing beam is taken force by combined Axial loads and Bending Moment.

If in design a member as Beam, the slenderness in compression and or tensile does not be checked; if in design a member as Column, the deflection does not be checked.

My question is that how to check a framing beam which is taking axial force and bending moment can get a result including slenderness and deflection?

The slenderness in steel design of Code AISC 360-16

Hi, i am working a model for structural steel design. There is a mistake to check the slenderness and the compression member in code of AISC360-16.

The mistake is that the when I defined a length for LZ, but the slenderness in Y direction LY is equal to LZ, not the default length. As you know, the beam is supported by hbrace and infill beams in weak axis.

Does anyone has this problem?

The STAAD.Pro version is V22 update 6.

Ask A Question I

Ask a question in a forum.
