Dear Forum.

I'd like to check if is possible to design in STAAD a concrete Tank with inclined slab at the base, please refer to the image below for reference.

I also have not much experience in mesh modeling, can you please recommend links and information to review to ensure good practices for the modeling and design, Thanks!

RC Designer Issues

Hi,

I'd like to point the following Issue with the RC. Staad Designer.

I'm designing a basic double frame structure
The column design checks using ACI-318M is ok

But when it comes to check the beams there's this red warning color on the model which indicates fail in the main reinforcement, and no matter how I handle the design parameters, it just doesn't check.

The fun part comes when just by curiosity I run the design using the IS code (with default parameters and everything just checks.

Summarizing, I'm feeling every time less trustworthy using these "STAAD Addons" that for instance give more functionality to the whole package but in the end is just a cumbersome process.

Pipe rack, supports, Bridge recommendations.

I'd like to take the chance to open this discussion:

While designing a full arrangement of pipe supports (Pipe Racks, Pipe bridges, Steel pipe supports). Which is the best way to get the most efficient way of dong it on STAAD? By modeling one structure at a time or the full arrangement of structure that will bear the pipe(s)

Caesar and Staad compatibility.

Dear community.

It is possible to use the output from Caesar (pipe stress analysis software) with STAAD.Pro? it is for the design of a pipe supports and a pipe bridge.

Before i have worked with excel sheets reports from Caesar, and manually I have sorted out the loads needed and introduced on staad. Now I wonder if thre's a way to import those loads from caesar.

Issues with the DFF command.

Dear Community I'm having some issues with DFF comand.

I'm using version 20.07.11.45

I'm designing a basic frame (5m) span for a pipe support and when i use the DFF command for checking the deflection there are some issues that i'd like to address:

the section used for design according to the output, fails for deflection even though the ration is less than 1. reffer to image below
the deflection in the post processing tab seems not to match with the output or at least I'm not seeing it accordingly.

STAAD.Pro activation in diferent user same computer

I need to Run Staad.Pro in a PC where's already installed but, when I log with my user (same PC), I need to activate, I do have an Activation key, but still, don't know what is the procedure and the IT manager isn't at the office

Reshaping plates

Dear Staad community.

I'm having some problems to model a wall with a sloped beam, basically, I need to reshape some plates to match the sloped beam but I'm been unable to do it. Unfortunately, I'm not so savvy with plate modeling therefore, I hope you can guide me. In the image below you can find pretty much what I'm talking about, I just need move those upper plate's nodes to match the beam.

Jib crane STAAD Pro.

I wander if it is possible to analyze a jib crane using STAAD.pro. Perhaps the easy way to do it is a column and a beam (but I’d like to know if is possible to model it with a moving jib over the mast)

Pipe Rack + Vertical Vessel Slab design in Staad Pro

Dear Community,

I´m designing a slab foundation mat for a pipe rack and some vertical vessel, I have already designed the structure with STAAD Pro, and now I’d like to attack the model some plates “mesh” and estimate the base pressure, overturning and sliding as part of the checks required.

I designed the structure using a dynamic analysis, now I’d like how I can perform the analysis of the concrete slab using the structure, since they have all the reactions. Also there are 6 vertical vessels along the pipe rack that I do have so far is weight full and empty and I’d need to apply wind and seismic loads which I think I can get them and apply them as nodal loads, for a better visual of what I’m trying to describe please see the picture below.

Meshing tool for a concrete slab.

Dear community,

How can I effectively create plate mesh that intercepts with the nodes (base columns), shown in the render, I’m trying to create a “random” mesh that get close to a plate node and the I just merge the node from the column with the node of the plate (keeping) the column node.

If you know or consider another way better, would you please let me know.

RAM connection change language.

Dear Support!

How can I change the language of the Report within ram connection, When I use the Standalone app, all the reports are in English, however when i use the RAM connection tab within STAAD.Pro the reoports are in spanish, even though the STAAD.Pro is in english.

Export a Model from STAAD.Pro to PDS - Intergraph (frameworks Plus)
