VBE6EXT.OLB error at start Microstation

MicroStation v8i (08.11.09.832) (also Inroads)

At start MicroStation (Inroads) recently a error message concerning Microsoft Visual Basic pops up. VBE6EXT.OLB could not be loaded.

When I press ok, MicroStation starts but i cannot load VBA macro's.

Not file specific.

Windows 10.

How to resolve?

What software from Bentley is best to create a 3d-terrainmodel with contourlines like the image below. Open Roads or Open Site. I have always worked with Microstation V8i / Inroads Site.

scales definition file

Hi all,

I've added two scales to the default scales definition file (scales.def). However, they come in in Microstation Connect as CUSTOM. See image below.

smooth display of reference file

Hi All,

Microstation V8i 08.11.09.832.

Situation is as follows: 2 models in one dgn, one with 2d-linework (no color fills) named 'lin' and one with 2d-opaque color fills named 'col'.

For the col-model i have defined materials per color/level.

When I attached the col-model to the lin-model and i set the reference display mode to smooth for reference col, the color are realy bright (as it should be) > see images below.jpg

When I create a sht-file and then attach the lin-model live and the col-model live (not with nest-depht) and i set the reference display mode for the col-model to smooth, the colors are not as bright.

No specific light defined.

Any idea what could be wrong?

create 3d curve or helix

Hi all

I need to create a ramp between c-c' en d-d'. Same for a-a' and b-b'. To take on example: the radius on c-c' = 325 cm en the height is 350 cm. But the angle between c and c' = 227.8652°. See image below.

How to create this 3d curve or helix?

level lock does not applies shared cells

Hi all,

I have a key-in script to select all elements on a locked level and then calculate the length of the selected elements:

fit view extended;lock level on;active level = ln_piling;choose all;measure length;xy=0,0;lock level off

When I run this key-in it is not only selecting all the elements on the locked level [ln_piling] but it also selects shared cells on a totally different level. When I drop the shared cells to normal cells everything works fine. Test file available via e-mail request.

Is this a bug or is something wrong with my key-in script.

Thematic Height Display Legend

Hi all

I've displayed surface triangles as mesh and turned on the thematic height display style.

I've changed the legend to be not dynamically and I've changed the elevation range to a number of colors and the range values to every meter.

I've put the legend as a persistent element in my drawing.

The values of the legend displays up to 5 decimals. How can I change the number of decimals to be less than 5, f.e. zero decimals or 2 decimals?

wrong icons under correct tooltips in Inroads

Hi all

Concerning Microstation/inroads and Powerinroads 08.11.09.722 on my HP-Z400 workstation.

In Microstation/Inroads my icons are not correct for the appropriate function, the tooltip however is correct. See examples below. Only in the 'View Surface' toolbar!

I've tried to Customize > Reset All but the problem remains. I cannot get it fixed.

I've installed PowerInroads 09.722 and loaded it with example workspace Bentley-Civil-Metric. No customized .xin file or whatever. And also here is this a problem: wrong display of icons, correct tooltip.

What could be wrong? Looking forward for any advice.

Win 7 Ultimate, HP-Z400 Workstation, 24 Gb Ram, Nvidia Quadro 4000.

strange display in Bentley View

Hi all,

My coworker always has a weird display of either dgn or dwg-files (all the files with no exceptions!). See picture below.

Uninstalled his present version and installed the latest version of Bentley View. Problem remains.

Updated display drivers, etc.

When I load this files in Microstation everything looks OK.

What could be wrong?

Inroads missing command 'Apply Template'

Hi all

In Inroads V8i SS2 there is a function under: surface > design surface > Apply Template.

In Inroads V8i SS3 I miss that function! Where did it go? How to activate this command?
