STAAD is calculating the self-weight of any member based on its actual length (distance between start and end nodes). It does not consider any extra plate used for connection to compute the self-weight as the model itself does not have any information…

Adding to what Seth mentioned, from STAAD.Pro also you can export plans and elevations in a dxf format ( File > Export > 2D DXF) . You can actually have the member numbers, node numbers, properties etc. turned on in that view so that these are exported…

Our BIM offerings like AECOsim Building Designer and ProSteel offer the best solutions. The workflow would be to work in a 3D environment, but 2D drawings can be generated from those 3D models (and the 3D model is imported through ISM from Ram, Staad…

There is a nice link between STAAD.pro and ProSteel that you could use if you have an opportunity to use ProSteel for detailing.

I took a quick look at your model. Apparently there are no instabilities. There are no large displacements and the equilibrium checks are satisfied. So I do not see any major modeling issues.

As only part of the input is available in the post, it is difficult to comment on the structure. From the picture you uploaded I see cantilever projections on either side of the long beams. If these small beams projecting out of the long beams are supposed…
