I have a model of a shield tunnel in plaxis3d. The model is run to an Mstage=0,8 for the excavation of the tunnel (Phase 1); in the following phase, a concrete lining is activated and the model run to Mstage=1 (Phase 2).

My question is, if at phase 1 and phase 2, a surface load of 20kpa was applied to the earth's surface. Is it true that only 80 percent of the surface load is effective in phase 1, and only fully effective in phase 2?

Is this phenomenon reasonable? In actual engineering, the surface overload such as vehicle load in phase 1 and phase 2 should be the same, instead of 80% in phase 1 and 100% in phase 2.
