The link below is directly pulled up from google search for "Inventor object model api" from Autodesk and shows a full object model tree for most of the entire software.

Using sheet index and print organizer, the I can directly create links within each file and point it to another file within the drawing set.

While this functionality is great, with it comes the need to have a back button as well. That function is inherent to acrobat but it is not shown by default, so that's why I wanted to actually add a button that does exactly that if possible for all pages.

Reviewing other forums for PDF and acrobat, it appears that you can add buttons that will have a "previous view" function in PDF. How, if possible, should I set up a link in Microstation that will allow me to execute a navigate to previous view action? An explanation of how to do it in Acrobat itself can be found here: PDF Help—add ’BACK’ button | Adobe Acrobat (acrobatusers.com)

Variables driven by element attributes

Hi,

I am exploring a little regarding the CONNECT version parametric capabilities, and noted that it seems like I do not seem to have the "New expression" or "New variable" options that I see from other posts when I added a distance constraint. Why is that the case?

What I am trying to do is to make say, a line double the length of another line. How would you try to achieve that? It seems intuitive that I should be able to just type in an expression when I add two distance constraints and that can achieve that, but I cannot seem to figure out how I can actually reference another constraint dimension without more options in there to guide me. Will appreciate any guidance others can give.

Drop down only shows one dimension and does not have any other option apparently.

Ask A Question I

Ask a question in a forum.

Best way to implement drawing sets with links within them that allows quick jumping around the final PDF drawing sheets?

I am quite new with Microstation and wanted to learn more about the best ways to create drawing sets that allow you to place drawing references that links to other sheets in the same drawing set.

For example, if you have drawing 100, 200, and 300. I wanted to put a sheet index like table on the 100 sheet that shows what 200 and 300 are about. But I also wanted to make it such that, I can put a linkage within the pdf file that allows people to click on that 200 and 300 text on sheet 100, which will automatically bring them to sheet 200 or 300 respectively. What is the most efficient way if I want to do that?

Note that this is for linking within the same file and I wanted the file produced by print-organizer within the same set to plot the final file with multiple sheets with correct links on them if possible, just like how an elink will work for external file links.

Thanks!
