Labeling nodes and beams

Using STAAD.Pro V8i,

Is there any way to change the node labels to match column lines, for example A1, B1, etc.?

If so is there also a way to have the beams automatically label based on the node names(A1-B1)

IS800 2007 WSD syntax

The correct systax for using design code IS;800 2007 section 11 ( WSD ) is CODE IS800 WSD

If someone types IS800 2007 WSD , STAAD still runs the file but actual design is performed as per IS:800 1984 i,e, same as using syntax CODE INDIAN

This bug shall be removed from STAAD as it gives wrong picture to designer that IS:800 2007 is followed by Staad.

Yield Strength reduction as per Code

Indian Standard material code ( IS 2062 ) specifies reduction in Yield strength based on plate thk ( 250MPA for plate thk <20, 240MPa for 20<thk<40, & 230MPa for plate thk >40.)

Does staad pro takes this into consideration by default or one needs to specify FYLD parameter specially for plate fabricated beams & columns ?

Section design with Rib/Diaphragm plate effect

Is it possible STAAD Pro V8I SS5 to design as Plate fab beam ( I section in particular ) with taking effect of ribs / diaphragm plates in consideration . For now I am defining I section as 'Tapered' section or in section wizard which takes only cross section into account.

This shall be useful particularly at girder support locations where beam fails in Shear.

Mutliple START END TRUSS specifications

How to prevent STAAD pro from generating multiple START END TRUSS specifications on itself.. generally seen after addition of members..

At times it becomes difficult to remove the assigned specifications..

Same happens with TAKE OFF command

Single Side tapered beam

How does one create eccentric taper i.e. while curtailing a girder at column support, I need to keep top flange at same level & just reduce the height with moving bottom flange nearer to top flange.

While assigning taper section, STAAD is by default considering eccentric reduction i,e, both side are reduced equally.( Using v8i SS5)
