ProjectWise Deliverables Management External Users

We are a larger firm but do have some smaller projects where the subs on these projects are small enough not to have use Bentley products before or have CONNECTION Profiles. So we have a group that wants to try/use the PW Deliverables Management and some of the participants would be these smaller subs that have never done anything with Bentley Products. So the question is this: If we have these External participates, we can tell them to create a Bentley Profile but when they do they get a message saying they are not associated with an organization. What should we tell them they should do to be able to participate in Deliverables Management of a CONNECTED Project?

CONNECTED Project Chooser dialog box for AutoPIPE? How to diable?

How can we disable the CONNECTED Project Chooser Dialog from coming up in AutoPIPE (CONNECT Edition). We know how to do this in MicroStation with the configuration variable but do not know in AutoPIPE.

SELECTserver Report: Client Authentication by Site

We want to confirm that the new Report located under "Reports > Inventory Reports > Client Authentication by Site" on SELECTserver is giving us information about computers that have the CONNECTION Client installed and not installed. Is this the correct assumption?

Users have Bentley users accounts in our organization but when trying add them to a CONNECTED Project, their names do not appear.

We have many users that have Bentley users accounts within our Organization, but when we try to add many of them to a CONNECTED Project, their names do not appear in the User Management / Add User(s) area of the CONNECTED Project. Is there something we need to do to their user accounts in order for them to be available in the CONNECTED Project Add Users area?

Project Standards Sharing

As and Administrator of many CONNECT Edition Workspace and WorkSet Standards, we would like to know the location where the Standards get uploaded to when using "Project Standards Sharing" in MS CONNECT. (We have not decided to use this feature yet.)

Also, is there security on these Shared Standards so not just any user can make changes to the Standards files and then updated/upload these files (like a dgnlib or cell lib) ? The concern is changes to the client standards would be able to be manipulated by all having access to the Connected Project.

Executing a external file (.bat, .vbs, etc) from a configuration file at start up of MicroStation?

We have a situation where we need to execute a file (.bat, .vbs) on MicroStation startup from an existing centralized (on a server) MicroStation Configuration File. We need to know what code we would need to add to this central file to read a external file, again, something like a .bat or .vbs file. What we need to do is to copy one file from the server to the local "config" area of MicroStation V8i. Once this new file is copied to the local computer it will redirect to the new area we now have our Company configuration.

Does anyone know how to read, from a MicroStation Configuration File, a file that can copy a different file from the server to the local computer. Maybe there is a way to copy a file within the Configuration file which could work as well.

MicroStation Tags and Duplicate Text when placing a Shared Cell?

We are starting to use ProjectWise (CONNECT Edition) Attribute Exchange Rules with MicroStation (CONNECT). The users are placing a TitleBlock (cell) and then updating the TitleBlock information (Tags within the Cell) from the PW Attributes. This does work and it works well when the users place the cell and make sure the cell is placed NON-Shared.

But when they place it as a Shared Cell, they get duplicate Text. The duplicate text is the text of the original Tag Name and then the new information from PW Exchange Rules. Is there a way around this other then making sure all users know to toggle OFF "Place as a Shared Cell"? If there is not, does anyone know of a Keyin to toggle OFF "Place as a Shared Cell"? (If so we would great a new Ribbon group and have them place the TitleBlocks from there so we could control the placement.) We do not want to use the variable that does not allow for Shared cells to be places in the dgn as we do sometime what the users to place Shared Cells.

MicroStation SELECTseries 4 (08.11.09.829 or 08.11.09.862) which should we have our Users install.

So we are a large firm and run many Bentley products. We recently pushed out MicroStation SELECTseries 4 to our users that have not moved to the CONNECT Edition. The SS4 version we have just started very recently to install is 08.11.09.829. But now we see there is a new dependency release for the newer version of MAP which is 08.11.09.862. So the question is should we be using version 08.11.09.862 for all users? Even the ones that are not running MAP?

ProjectWise Deliverables Management - Do we need the Project to be in ProjectWise to use PDM?

So the question is, to use ProjectWise Deliverables Management effectively, do we need to have the CONNECTED Project associated with a ProjectWise Project? Or can we use PDM in a CONNECTED Project without PW? We see we can turn PDM ON in the Project Portal but are wondering the downfalls of not having this Project Associated with a PW Project? Or does PDM not even work without being associated to a PW Project?
