The Civil/Site Tools toolbar is not working

Many of the tools in the Civil/Site Tools toolbar are not working. Most of the tools throw "Command not defined for this application" error. For instance the Place Composite Curve tool in the toolbox. I am using MicroStation CONNECT Update 12 - Version 10.12.00.40

Is this a known bug?

a list of title block information in an excel file

Hi,

I've done this in the past but I can't remember how I did it. I'm sure there is a better way now.

What we need is to be able to grab the title block information from our drawings and have that information listed in an Excel file or a Word document.

I remember placing a .bat in the same folder as the drawings and then choosing the run macro button (or something like that) in one open file. This would create a list of all the drawings in that folder.

In other words. My engineer wants a list of the names of the drawings in an excel file. (Not the file names. But the names of each drawing. As an example:

230/69KV Control Room
Switchgear
PSC Panel

They are a combination of data fields and simple text. Drawings from last century and this century.

Placing table from Excel

Good day

I'm trying to figure out how to use the Place Table tool in MicroStaion/ OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition. We have a very standard format for some of our data and would like tables to be created exactly as they are in Excel.

Below is how the data looks in Excel:

Below is what it looks like if MicroStation attempts to preserve the formatting:

You can see that most of the text does not come through and not all of the row heights are preserved. The column widths are preserved.

Below is what it looks like when not preserving the formatting:

Am I missing something?

hatch scale changing in different versions of MicroStation

Why would a simple hatch show up one way in CONNECT and another in v8i? In CONNECT the scale changes. The picture below shows the difference. The first picture is CONNECT with the tight hatch pattern. The second is the loose pattern which is what the engineer prefers. The hatching is in a referenced file. After I first posted this question I went in and turned off the Annotation Scale lock for the referenced file. Now the hatch appears the same as it does in the v8i session. I'm going to go see how turning off the AS lock affects the text and other linestyles scales.

I am using MicroStation CONNECT Update 12 - Version 10.12.00.40

invisible cursor

Today my cursor has become invisible while working in MicroStation. I was able to get it to appear again by changing the resolution of my screen. But that isn't a good fix - now everything is super large on that monitor. Has this happened to anyone else? I've tried looking through Preferences and I can't find anything there to help.

Before anyone says to go into Windows and change it there - I did. This is only disappearing in MicroStation. It is also happening to other people in my company. So weird.

Custom tool box - where is the Delete tool?

CONNECT won't maintain view placement on open windows

CONNECT Edition Update 12 - Version 10.12.00.40 won't maintain view placement on open windows on some drawings. (We did choose Save Settings before we shut down the drawing.) When we open the drawing up view 5 is minimized. Not up in the corner as it should be.

I know this seems like a small thing but it is a client requirement that Windows 1 and Window 5 are open in their drawings.

What makes this even quirkier is that it doesn't happen to all drawings. Most drawings behave as expected.

Save Settings is not saving view settings as it should on some drawings.

replace cells in an entire folder using MicroStation CONNECT

The IT guys at our company have said that CONNECT has written in many of the utilities that we used from Axiom - things like global replace. I haven't been able to find that in MicroStation CONNECT.

What we need is a way to replace stamps in an entire folder (without opening each drawing up individually). We can do that with Axioms help. I know that there has to be a way in MicroStation CONNECT, right?

INSERT button on a keyboard (or the 0 shortcut on the keypad)

In v8i a user can utilize the INSERT key on the keyboard so that her text will be overwritten with the correct text - without the need to highlight. In CONNECT the insert command is not working as it should.

She usually leaves her Num Lock off and utilizes the 0. I had never heard of that particular shortcut but that is what she has done for years. It won't work in CONNECT. Neither does utilizing the Insert key on the keyboard.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know the fix? Thanks

View tools display is erratic

For some reason my view tools aren't displaying properly. I have to drag my mouse across them to even get them to show. I am using MicroStation v8i Select Series 3 Version 08.11.09.459

My computer is basically new - updated within the last year. The graphic card has been updated and should be happy with MicroStation. I work with a big corporation and they usually do a great job of keeping us running. This is maddening. Has anyone else been having this problem and how did you fix it? Thanks, Kelly

Snaps invoked by keystroke

When using the 'Measure Distance' command, and at other times, when

about to place a data or tentative point, I would like to choose a snap,

by keystroke. In the popup snaps list, the names of the snaps have their

first character capitalised and underlined, which conventionally leads me

to hold down 'Alt' while hitting the key corresponding to the underlined capital

letter, eg I hit Alt-I for intersect., but nothing happens.

How can the purportedly available keyboard strokes be enabled?

I think they are enabled in the middle of the 'stretch' command.
