Kindly i have a question , and i am a little bit confused about H2s Calculations in sewer gems.

First Of all i have seen this article and it understand it well :

Modeling septicity / hydrogen sulfide (H2S) .

In this article i understand that SewerGems uses Pomeroy Parkhurst Equation to predict H2S formation

Then i want to verify if that formula is really used inside the Sewer-gems . what i did is make a simple model consist of 1 line only and compare the result from sewer-gems with result from excel sheet using Pomeroy Parkhurst Equation .

Result from model is shown below and data from model is shown below

The Sewergem model based on the above data give me a H2s result = 0.16487 mg/l

using excel sheet and applying Pomeroy Parkhurst Equation on the above data that i get from sewer gems , then unforuntly i did not get the same result !!!?

is there is some thing wrong inside sewer-gems programming , is sewer gems does not use the same formula or did i make a mistake ?

this is the result from the excel sheet i get H2S = 0.1114 mg/l

Sewergems model is here

communities.bentley.com/.../H2s-Model.rar

Equation Used In Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Modeling In SewerGems

Dear All ,

Kindly i have a question , and i am a little bit confused about H2s Calculations in sewer gems.

I tried make a comparison between result from SewerGems and an excel sheet with the equation that mentioned in this article but the problem is that the result does not match .

My question is does SewerGEMS use the following equation below euqation or not ?

i need to know what the exact formula that sewer gems uses in calculating the H2S out ?

Hydrogen Sulfide Modeling in Sewergems

Dear Folks ,

I have run a model with Hydrogen sulfide analysis , after made the analysis i got the result for H2s in and out concentration , my question is : do we have a limit for H2S concentration in sewer pipe line ?? or do we have a code or standard that have limits for H2S concentration ??

is the concentration limit depend on pipe material type , and what is the limit for each pipe material ??

Thank you all

hydraulic grade line

Hello Folks ,

Kindly i have a question related to Sewer-gems Software , my question is about the hydraulic grade line in a sewer networks that modeled throughout Sewer gems or sewer cad .

The Hydraulic grade lines have a small jump before manhole entrance , even-though the inlet pipe and outlet pipe has the same : diameter , flow , slope , partial full flow percent
my question why this small jump happens ??
