I set null-point triggers in my template to control the display of certain components and created a template drop for the mainline corridor. For the secondary corridor, with it's template drop ending prior to the intersection, I created horizontal geometry that I intended to profile and use for creating a design surface.

After creating the horizontal geometry, but before creating active profiles for each element, I edited the mainline template drop to adjust which components will not display. As soon as I accepted these changes to the template (had not yet created my parametric constraint in the corridor bucket list) some of the horizontal geometry elements turned bold red with a small "x" icon. My Message Center displays the red "x" symbol with the message: "Missing Reference From File - Model Not Found".

I cannot select these elements for commands (such as create complex by element or create profile intersection point) while they are in this state. What did I do wrong? How can I fix this?

Open Roads Designer, place line button missing - Help!

I am working in Open Roads Designer, release 4, and I have had all of my user settings reset; all settings are default settings. In the Drawing workflow, Home tab, Placement ribbon group, the "Place Line" button is missing and I cannot get it to appear. I have gone to the "Customize Ribbon" dialog and it shows as being on the ribbon group there, but it will not appear when I attempt to access it while working. I have tried to remove it and add it back in from the dialog, but this doesn't work. When I go to the Search Ribbon and type in "place" the search function will not find the place line command. Same thing when I type "line" into the Search Ribbon.

I have restarted Open Roads many times. I have restarted my computer many times. I have tried many different ways and different sequences within the "Customize Ribbon" dialog to get the button to show up, but it won't. I even copied the command prompt for the button from the dialog box properties and assigned the command to a shortcut key, but that does not work either. I assigned "place line icon" to a shortcut key, but that does not work.

I need to be able to place a line, not a smart line, and cannot be expected to draw a smart line then drop it every time I need a simple drafting working line. I need help!

Ask A Question I

Ask a question in a forum.

ENTER key action

I am working in Open Roads Designer CONNECT Edition and I want to change what the "ENTER" key does. I would really like to have it do what the space bar currently does, and assign another function to the space bar. I know how to do the latter, but not the former. Can anybody help me with this?
