Hello,Thank you for taking out your time to read my profile. If you are here, many questions may be running through your mind like, Who is this guy? What is his background ? How did he end up at Bentley Systems? So, let me answer them for you !Since I was a child, I had a thing for technology. Dismantling a toy car and telling people how that damn thing worked was more fun than actually playing with it. When in high school, physics was the joy cart I liked riding in. There I developed a significant inclination towards semiconductors and electronics in general. This translated in me pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering from Walchand College of Engineering. Well, my thirst for knowledge was not quenched yet, so I studied further for a Post Graduate Degree in Power Systems from College of Engineering Pune. During my Under Grad as well as Post Grad I did projects in Inverter Design and created a prototype of a LCCT Z-Source Inverter. A technology that may not see a light of day for at least a couple of years. While studying for my Post Graduate Degree I got an offer from L&T Construction, which due to some personal reasons I could not take. So here I was searching for a job, where I could fit in, and guess what, I got an offer from Bentley Systems ! That was September of 2017. That began my career at Bentley Systems. As a matter of fact, I had worked with many software during my academic pursuits, but before Bentley I never had an opportunity to work on a Design and Drafting software. AutoCAD was something I had remotely heard my friends from the Mechanical background use. So here I was, a hard core Electrical Engineer in a Software Infrastructure company. In the beginning I really felt out of place. I didn't even knew how to draw a line using the basic commands (Ok. I am exaggerating a little bit here :) ), but really everything seemed pretty alien. But as I already said, I always had a thing for technology, in whatsoever form it may be. So I underwent some training, did some homework and here I was, helping people with what they want to do with our technology. It has been a real home coming. Now I work for the Technical Support of Bentley Substation, Bentley Raceway and Cable Management and Promis.e. I try to play with SQL databases, .xml files, exploring the possibilities with these software. And hell yes, I am having a great time doing it. Cheers !- Sarvesh
