action string with multiple data clicks

Im trying to write a little action string to draw a multiline on a specific level and then drop the element, as well as a few other functions. The problem I'm running into is I would like the user to click as many times as they like while drawing the multinine, but I'd also like the action string to resume once the element has been placed. Is there some command or syntax that allows for a variable number of data clicks without aborting or finishing the action string?

Im writing a simple action string script to change specific element attributes (client requests we not use By Level attributes). I cant figure out how to finish it. Here is what I have so far:

level element select "level name"; co= 3; LC= 2; WT= 1;E,CHANGE ELEMENT EXTENDED;

However this ends with the Change Element window open and requires the user to data click in the drawing to accept the changes. Its that last part I'd like to automate. There must be some function I can tag on the end of my script to data click in or accept the changes.

p.s. I'd prefer to keep this in action string script and out of VBA for a number of reasons, although I'll go down that path if there are no alternatives

ribbon customizations importecxml - Keyin vs Script

Im trying to set up a custom tool ribbon that users can download when needed. I cannot point to a shared dgnlib because my users spend half their time off the network. The importecxml function seems to be the cleanest solution but im getting different effects depending how i use it.

When I use the command ribbon customizations importecxml as a key-in in an active drawing it works fine. However, when I apply the same command with the address of the .xml to a button or script it simply asks if I want to import it to the dgnlib but never updates the actual ribbon.

I'd like to save it to a button so users don't have to remember the path to the shared .xml. I want them to click a button and have the ribbon update.

Missing data after crash

First off: I am using Microstation connect. I am operating locally, not on a server. I have "Auto-save design changes turned on."

I just had a crash and lost about two days of line work from my dgn. Im not sure how this could be considering the auto save function. The thing that is really strange is I've opened and closed the file multiple times over the past couple days so I know it has been saving the data. For some reason its all gone now. To be clear, the file isn't blank. It's as if it reverted to a state from four days ago or so.

Any one have any clever ideas how to recover my missing data?
