Hello. I'm trying to help out our CAD manager with automating the "Copy list to tab seperated" function in ProjectWise. We have some sheets with graphs showing our project progress, regarding having documents send through the prober workflow. Is there a way to query the information from a list of files within a folder in a ProjectWise environment?

I heard about PowerBI extension for projectwise, but I don't think we will be able to get access to that.

It would be very beneficial to create something, where a projectmanager without any IT-skills could just hit a button and get an estimate of project progress.

If this has been discussed in another thread I apologize.

PC Specifications for ContextCapture and LumenRT

Hi all. I have been making a few models with CC and had a go at said models in LumenRT. I'm working on a Zbook Studio G3, 32 Gb RAM and only a Nvidia Quadro M1000M. I have been looking at either an I5 or I7 (I have been playing PC games for quite a few years and the I5 models are often prefered due to price and clock capabilities) 32 or even 64 gigs of RAM and Either a single high end Nvidia GTX card or 2 GTX Titan cards in SLI. Since it will be a work station I'm thinking overclocking might not be a smart choice, and if I could use it to run other simulations besides the Bentley products it would help justify the investment. Hence why the Titan's would be prefered since Mike Urban from DHI supports utilization of GPU's for parallelisation.

Since Bentley keeps making more and more 3D heavy tools, which I am a big fan of, my laptop is starting to overheat often, and working with large terrainfiles, multiple elements and models should in my oppinion be done on a stationary PC with proper airflow and cooling.

Missing camera model "UltraCam Osprey Mark 3 Premium f120"

Hi all. I am trying to build some models from vertical and angled aerial photo's. The photo's has been aquired with "UltraCam Osprey Mark 3 Premium f120" which takes pictures in 5 directions. I am having a hard time getting CC to understand that I am using images with 5 different directions from the camera. I have tried controlling the photo's in photogroups but CC just place the pictures at random, meaning that some photo's will end up in the same group even though they have different cone ID's

SUE Node's smart naming possible?

Hi all. I'm not sure where to post this question / prayer, so please point me in another direction if it is not supposed to be here.

I have been using SUE for Powerrailtrack SS4 for some time now, and I'm starting to prepare for OpenRail. I have been wondering if it would be possible to have my nodes/manholes named based on a position compared to an allignment line. The way I'm doing it now is to: Place the node with the desired prefix for the manhole, and then using the tracking tool on an allignment file to read the station at the position where I placed the node, and then giving the manhole the name of that station. I was hoping in the future it would be possible to have the node be placed a set distance of the allingment and even have the name of the node change, if there would be any changes in the allignment stationing. I know this is a lot to ask for, but it would help create a more dynamic process in our projects and make the tool more usefull.

AFAIK there will be some annotation comming in Update 4 for ORD, so I don't know if this is something that will be in there, but would sure love to pitch the idea towards whom ever is working on SUE at Bentley.

OpenRoads Designer SUE - Node Bottom Cell Not Connecting with Top Cell

Good Morning All,

I seem to be having a problem in SUE when I create a new node in my cell library. When placing it in my model, the bottom cell does not extrude up and meet the top cell. These solid elements have been created using slab solids and then using the features > cut solid tool to remove the hole in the middle, creating a parametric solid.

Am I missing a step in this? The top snaps to the surface and the base is in the correct place, it just doesn't fill in the gap. See attached image as an example (it also appears that in solid view, the holes I have created become filled in).

If anyone could help, it would be appreciated

Deleted nodes remains in flex tables

Hi all. When I'm looking through my flex tables in my design file with SUE elements in it. I notice that wells that have been placed, and then later deleted, remain in the flex tables. This is gonna be a rather big problem when generating rapports.

Is there a way to force a flex table update?

Hi all. I am working on railroad drainage and using SUE with Powerrail track SS4. My co-worker is creating 3d mesh from template drops, but due to some problems with ss3 and ss4, he has to work in SS2.

I would like to be able to see his mesh elements in my profile view window in order to see if I am achieving enough clearense on my links and nodes. I can't seem to be able to have anything but terrain models display in the profile view window and having his mesh displayed there would greatly help in the working process.

I know it would perhaps be smarter to have a different process but I am only a small part of the machinery when it comes to railupgrade projects and most of my co-workers are using SS2 and is sticking to producing mesh, so I have to play ball and see if I can make it work

Linestring for links in SUE

Hi all. I'm trying to seperate the linestring created within the 3D model of a Subsurface utilities design file. The line is created when you open a profile model of a link, and is placed in accordance with the way you defined your links to be placed (Soffit, Center or invert).

I think it is created in the layer defined by the template for the 3D part of the link. So if I were to have a pink colour for the 3D element of the pipe, the centerline of the pipe would also be pink. My entrepeneur requests that only the linestring is to be wieved, since only "simple" elements can be read by the machinery. I'm guessing he would like the option to only view simple elements of the drainage project.

So if anyone know of a way, to where I can turn off the "cirkular pipe" in the 3D model, control the level of the 3D linestring in the links without changing the level of the modelled pipe or in any way shape or form extract only the centerline of the link, it would be greatly appriciated.

I know I could merge the 3D model of the design file, into a new file and seperate them there, but as we all know extra steps means greater chance of failure and increased cost.

Profile view missing elevation in SUE.

Hi all. I have a problem when trying to view a profile with the profile view tool. For some reason the font is weird, and the elevation is annotated as "ZZ,ZZ"

Was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem?

Select different workspace for Bentley Learn

Hi all. I'm trying to do some of the Bentley Learn tutorials and they require me to set the correct workspace.

The problem is, that my program (Power Rail Track SS4) has been set up by our CAD admin. The workspace that the program goes to by default is located on a network drive. This is all fine for working on different projects for clients, but I can't seem to get it to locate the workspace required for the learn tutorials.

I would like to keep the default workspace directory to the network drive, but also have a shortcut on my desktop that uses the correct workspace for the Learn tutorials. Is there a way to add a command to a shortcut so it does not load the workspace from the network drive, but the workspace located for the learn tutorials?

InRoads SUE plan preparation tools

I have been looking at InRoads SUE; my question is when is the functionality for Labelling, Plan & Profile Generation, etc. going to be integrated so the native geometry database files will no longer be needed?

I have users who have used Civil 3d in the past who are not impressed with the plan generation tools of InRoads so I am hoping that the new iteration of plan labelling and plan and profile preparation tools will be more intuitive to use.

I am particularly interested in sewer, storm water and water long sections.

Macro/script? for annotating elements in Power Rail Track SS4.

Hi all. I have figured out a way to add a text node describing information about a civil element with the "insert field" option in the text box. I have 3-4 different fields in a text box containing information about the civil element. In each text box I also include "dead" text describing what each of the 4 fields refers to:

"Top Elevation" *Field1*
"Bottom Elevation" *Field2*

Where the text in the quotation marks has to be repeated in each text box, and the fields refers to the information about the civil element.

I could go through every single civil element and add in the different fields from each element, but I would love to hear if anyone has an idea to how I could reduce my "click and select process". I have been thinking about a script or macro to do the job, but I'm not sure which approach might be the smartest way to go with.

Idealy I could reduce the procces to "Hotkey for macro/script; Click civil element and the text box pops up with the predefined dead text and the fields for the clicked civil element"

Keeping information about nodes, conduits etc, when exporting from SUE model to 3D

Hi all. I thought I would put this by you guys, since you have been so helpfull in the past.

My client wish to have information about pipe and manhole dimensions in the 3D file we deliver.

The way we create the 3d model, is by refering the 3d part of the SUE file, and then merge into master. However, when doing so I can no longer see information about pipes and manholes in element information. The contractors would like to be able to view the information which is understandable.

So my question is: Is there a way to keep information such as: Pipe size, manhole diameter, etc. when refering the 3d part of the sue file into the 3d model file. Perhaps a way to keep the information about the cells or something like that. I will add a screenshot of now, and what would be super to have in the future.

Hi all. I am working in Power Rail Track SS4, where I design drainage systems. Things are running fine (as fine as SUE can run), but when I try to either open a .cel file, or a drawing .dgn file with my Microsstation SS3 I get the following error in a black box:

"OS could not load C:\PROGRA~2\Bentley\PROJEC~1\bin\v811\mcm.dll, error 127.
MDL Loader: Unable to load library (DLL or MDL shared library) mcm"

And a Microsoft .NET Framework with the following:
