PG&E's Technology Strategy and Solutions department is focused on the entire technology selection and implementation process. Areas include technology project intake, project management, project deployment, and project support. The Engineering Design and Estimating Technology Department is responsible for technology strategy, solution & implementation. Angela focuses on project management, project deployment, and project support for Estimating technology, work management systems, CAD systems, GIS systems, and asset management systems. Works with Gas Operations (Engineering, Service Planning, Construction, Planning, Project Management and Integrity Management) to develop Business Process Requirements. In this position Angela is also responsible for working with PG&E Information Technology (IT) in documenting and in some cases enhancing Business Processes & Functional Requirements.

As Business Systems Specialist, Angela participates in deployment activities: Training, Materials Development & Testing & Post-deployment support. Works with Gas Operations stakeholders to resolve technical issues, capture system enhancements and initiate post deployment improvements.

Teamwork/Employee Development: Partner with engineering departments, employees, union representatives, peers, other departments, and agencies to improve the overall business results for PG&E.

Key Qualifications

Angela has over 25 years of experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation in production/ design environments and manufacturing.  She has worked as both a manual drafter and CADD operator/technician, and as CADD manager in a variety of disciplines and projects. As project production manager, she supervises technical staff members with a variety of experience levels. She is responsible for ProjectWise set-up and implementation, FTP coordination, data control, management of on-line files and archival, on a project specific basis. Angela has provided input into the coordination of California High Speed Rail Project Standards, WSDOT and SDOT Standards for the Alaskan Way Viaduct Project in Seattle, Washington; and was key in the the coordination between agencies & disciplines to create project specific standards. She has provided MicroStation and AutoCAD support and training for users at all levels. Angela possesses refined skills in project coordination of production materials to produce client specific plans. A strong contributor to the CADD community through her service via the organization and distrbution of Corporate CADD Newsletter and participation in Corporate CADD Steering Committees. She employs excellent communication skills between engineering and technical staff to create a team approach that exemplifies her commitment to quality service and the CADD community's desired encouragement of Participate-Communicate- Educate.

Relevant Experience

  • 2001 - 2010 Alaskan Way Viaduct Project, Seattle, Washington: Project Plans Production Manager. Angela is part of the Viaduct team to facilitate build alternatives for the replacement of the Alaskan Way Viaduct. Angela will be leading a blended team of twenty project CADD staff and will coordinate work and workload with as many as 30+ engineers of diverse disciplines, as well as coordination with outside offices and agencies, management of files coming into and out of the project office. She has been instrumental in developing PB's capabilities and integration with the WSDOT/SDOT standards as well as managing the translation/coordination of City of Seattle Standards in conjunction with WSDOT. Angela manages CADD operations during upgrades and project team CADD issues development & resolution, as well as Administrator of ProjectWise database mangament tool for the project drawing design files. Angela is currently responsible for the establishment and implementation of the CADD project standards manual along with QA/QC process for project plan sets per PB standard.
  • 1999 - 2001 King Street Area Improvements, Seattle, Washington: senior design drafter/CADD supervisor. Angela was responsible for contract documents, design report drawings, and report figures, coordinating the workflow to ensure deadlines and quality.
  • 1999 - 2001 NE 8th/Bellevue HOV Access, Bellevue, Washingthon: senior design drafter/CADD supervisor. Angela was responsible for contract documents, design report drawings, and report figures, coordinating the workflow to ensure deadlines and quality.
  • 1999 - 2001 28th/24th Avenue South, SeaTac, Washington: senior design drafter/CADD supervisor. Angela was responsible for contract documents, design report drawings, and report figures, coordinating the workflow to ensure deadlines and quality.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Hatch Mott MacDonald, Angela worked with many of the top ten engineering and for architectural firms. She has supported small firms as a consultant in the areas of civil engineering, architecture and design. Angela worked as a consultant in the planning and layout of furniture systems and specifications, provided program planning for real-estate lease / acquisitions, space design and future use projections and presentation materials. Primary projects included:

 

  • West Galer Street Flyover, Seattle, Washington: senior design drafter/CADD supervisor. Angela was responsible for contract documents, design report drawings, and report figures, coordinating the workflow to ensure deadlines and quality.
  • Kennecott Mine Modernization,Salt Lake City, Utah: structural design drafter. Angela worked closely with the Lead Engineer to prepare and produce construction documents, participated in all phases of design and coordination with other disciplines with the project, and assisted in planning and detailing of structural concrete and structural steel aspects of the project.
  • Amtrak Rail Station, Port of Oakland, California: designer/drafter. Angela prepared design development package and final construction documents for a fast-track project. She worked closely with design engineers to coordinate project architect's drawings and other disciplines within the project group.
  • Dublin/Pleasanton Extension, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), San Francisco Bay Area, California: structural design drafter, responsible for design and preparation of construction documents for the bridges and trackway.
  • East Castro Valley (BART), San Francisco Bay Area, California: structural design drafter, responsible for design and preparation of construction documents for the bridges and overpasses.
  • Central Viaduct (Caltrans), San Francisco, California: structural design drafter, responsible for design and preparation of construction documents for the seismic retrofit
  • Bart Extension Programs (BATC), San Francisco Bay Area, California: senior drafter. She prepared drawings and assisted with the preparation of construction document sets, while working in tandem with Civil/Structural, Electrical/mechanical, and Hydro engineers for the Pittsburg/Antioch Extension, Dublin/Pleasanton Extensions, Traction Power and Train Control.
  • Burlington Northern Rail Site Remediation - Tank Farm, Martinez,California: design drafter. Angela provided plans for the site remediation project.
  • C.S.E. Insurance Co. , San Francisco, California: Angela performed programming and space planning of systems furniture, coordinated furniture specification and installation plans. She was responsible for space planning and construction documents for tenant improvements, office reconfiguration and space planning shop drawings for custom work/layout area and computer accounting area, the reconfiguration and expansion of departments. She had direct client interaction along with architect and construction management coordination.
  • United Airlines, San Francisco, California: project designer. Existing facilities plans.
  • Charles Schwab & Co., Carmel, Indiana: project designer. Angela worked on design of branch facilities and call center.
  • Various merchant retail establishments, University Avenue,Palo Alto, California: staff designer. Angela provided design consultation and services.
