Annotating Civil Cells in cross sections in OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition

I have a corridor that I use civil cells for driveways and Tee intersections at both ends. I need to cut cross section at centerline of each driveway. Also I like to see my cross slopes at both ends of my corridor where I have my T intersection civil Cells. In SS4 I was able to select the civil cell terrain in my filters but in OpenRoads designer I am not sure how to accomplish this task since you could only pick template points and civil cells only have surface templates. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,

ORD CE 2021 R2 - Change name and feature definition disabled

Using ORD 2021 R2. When I created Terrain Model, neither its feature Definition not Name can be changed via Element Properties or within the Explorer. The only way is to do that via Pop-Up menu/context menu. Same with Linear Features, Meshes, etc. Name and Feature Definitions are faded-out.

is it a bug?

idgn and imodel not creating in the MicroStation. I am using the version 10.13.01.01 right now, can someone tell me why?

I use to create .idgn for the federated model to use it on clash detection purpose. It use to work fine at start. But from last couple of days I am getting this error to say ' Please create a package file and then create I-model. and unable publish business data ..etc.. can some one tell me why ?

ORD Cross section Annotation Point Name Filter Expression?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any way to apply a cross section annotation group expression that would filter by partial point name, eg. PD-* to select all elements with a "PD-" prefix or a LEFT or SUBSTRING expression that would allow me to define any elements with the first few left characters, etc. or even something with the math or logical operators?

Right now my filtered list is very long and it constantly needs to be updated for every project that has different features so its becoming cumbersome...

[ORD] Excluding Clipped Corridors & Non-displayed References from Cross Section Annotation?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is any way to exclude clipped Corridor sections from Cross section annotation? I know this was a defect many versions ago, but would have thought it to be fixed by now?

That being said, Corridors in References that are not displayed also get annotated so i'm expecting corridor element visibility "detection" seems to need some work...

I'm using ORD 2020 Release 2.

OpenRoads Designer Profile Table Editor

Hi,

I am using OpenRoads 2020 Release 3 Update 9 - Version 10.09.0091.

I am having an issue with Table Editor tool when I try to edit my profile. Every time I try to add a PVI after of before a PVI, the dialogue box disappear with an Exception Log message. I did not have this issue with Release 2. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if there is a fix. I have attached one of the exception logs. Any help is highly appreciated.

Annotating Cross section slopes in OpenRoads Designer (Version 10.08.01.33)

I am trying to annotate cross slopes of my cross section in OpenRoads Designer. In Annotation Group Manager, the only way I could get cross slope labels to show is to filter segments by point Names and not point Feature Definitions. Even with point names not all points are captured. Even though they all have feature definitions associated with them. For example in order to label my Berm cross slope, when I choose point name of Top Back of the Curb and Face of Sidewalk it does not work. But if I choose the Top Face of Curb point name and Front of the Sidewalk it will labels it but obviously the calculated slope will be wrong. Both face and back of the curb have feature definitions which everything in them are identical, including feature symbology.

Also when I clear all filters, in order to test it, and expect to see all segments get labeled, none gets any label. I have been looking for a comprehensive documentation on the use of Expressions but have had not luck so far. Any hints would be much appreciated.

Hi All,

The last few days I've searching for information and help about X-section annotations, annotation groups en definitions..

II've installed the latest version of ORD.

When I open the Help File I cant find any specific information on any off the above subjects. I need desperate information on how to make annotation filters for crosssections. My project running over budget becuse all x-sections need to be (cached - automatc,) then exported to Cad and manually edited. 1 profile for every 250 m on a 32km roadproject. needs to be fully annotated. Width off lanes (between road markings ) widt off pavement (between edge off pavements) in box or above section.

Need: a full discription off functionallity off use off expressions / use off and segments with examples and , Full discription on how to make textfavorites (NO MOVIES) with examples for annotion with line objects or dynamic cells

Yes I'm getting super irritaded over this issue. Please Bentley make it work!

[ORD U7] Can non-template strings\surfaces by automatically annotated in ORD?

Hi All,

When creating X-sections through ORD, any points created from a template within the x-section area are annotated according to the rules in the annotation group. However, I have found that if I have any non-template (but still featurized) strings\surfaces within the X-section area they can not be automatically annotated.

Is this working as designed? Are we expected to annotate all non-template points manually? This is not ideal through areas that reqiure a lot of manual string modelling such as intersections.

Lost material in DGN when moved into ProjectWise

Moving a file set of a DGN and jpegs to ProjectWise, I have lost the material connection assigned to the wire mesh. There is not a *.pat or a *.mat assigned to the DGN. The material was originally assigned by using the Geographic app "Capture Google Earth Image". I have already placed all the files in the same folder. Now how do I get the DGN file to see the images that are assigned to the wire mesh in ProjectWise?
