Version 08.11.09.919

When I load Civtools the Message Center will say "Civtools loaded" But then I am unable to click on anything else, I eventually have to task manager > end task on microstation to be able to restart.

The only fix I have tried is I redownloaded Civtools but that did not work.

This is happening to other people in my office as well.

RE: Self Attachments not merging

Has anyone found a fix for this? I'm trying to export a MicroStation V8i file with several "Self References" to AutoCAD .dwg format. I used to be able to do it, but suddenly now it does not work anymore. I have everything set to "merge" as seen in the image. External references still merge in fine, but the self references will not. FF= is a neat tool that I didn't know about, but unfortunately doesn't allow you to save as .dwg. I can confirm that exporting used to be able to merge in self attachments, no idea why it doesn't work anymore!

I am trying to save a file with multiple models and references to a file with all references merged. The options are set to merge all external attachments and all self attachments yet when I open the newly created file the self attachments are not merged. I noticed that in the original file the self attachments are marked as Write Locked. How can this be changed so that self attachments are merged when saving as (or exporting)?

This is a multi-office, multi-disciplinary, multi-client and multi-project environment.

Here is what I need to accommodate:

OpenRoads

OpenBridge Modeler

Microstation

ProStructures

Multiple disciplines (transportation, mechanical)

Multiple clients in each discipline

Multiple projects for each client.

Currently, before CONNECT we have separate environments with separate standards, i'd like to make use of the same files if I can. So I don't know if i can define these at the organization level (can you have more than one?) or at the Role level (how does that even work?)

Workspaces and worksets are easy enough, but im not sure where to define the standards that are specific to each software. OpenBridge and ProStructures use common client dgnlibs and resource files but they also use templates, cells dgnlibs that are specific to the software AND each client.

Trying to keep this simple but also not confusing the users with information they don't need from a software they arent using. I'd also like to make this easily adaptable to new client and projects, ie i don't want to do this at the work-set level.

any advice?

[V8i Ss3] What does it mean when a Font is Listed in Red Text

We are trying to phase our RSC fonts that originally were TTF fonts. We decided to start small - Arial

But in MicroStation, I see two places Arial is listed - Once as @Arial Unicode MS and again as Arial Unicode MS but both are listed using Red text, as it looks here.

And if I select it, like in the Place Text tool settings or Text Editor dialog box, the editor displays some other font, but the text on my cursor looks as I expect. However, if I place it and then check its properties, it lists the font as Arial, and in the dropdown list that can be displayed in the properties dialog box, it lists Arial, but it's at the bottom of the list, after the SHX fonts.

Is there some other location we need to specify that we are not using an Arial RSC font?
